Well, we don’t know if that’s going to happen or not (Kyle’s back to being a GL, for instance, even if he’s not the one with a solo title).

As for this poll… yeah, small sample size accounts for a lot. Watch – Wally will be closer to Batman or Spidey than any rational thought would lead you to believe. Doesn’t mean he’s got the sales potential of either, however.

Wally is faster than Kal-El, he can break the light barrier.

He’s supposed to be faster than Barry as well, but that appears to be being overlooked by DC at the moment.
And I don’t see why Wally can’t still be the Flash-you’ve already got 2, why not 3? There’s 2 Wildcats, 2 Green Arrows, and as wIldcat points out in JSA, a whole bunch of Green Lanterns. Seriously-what’s the count on Green Lanterns?

All-Star Flash? I haven’t read the others– I feel that Superman and Batman have more than their fair share of “timeless” stories, anyhow– but that sounds pretty awesome.

@The Doctor: If you’re referring to me, let me say for the record that I only voted once.

Also, for the record, the Flash’s power isn’t to run fast, it’s to be fast. Running is far from the only application of speed: classics include creating whirlwinds, dismantling weapons while the villain is still aiming, hitting someone thousands of times a second or just once while moving at relativistic speeds, moving too fast to be touched by fire/bullets/etc., running across water or up the sides of buildings. Then factor in things like vibrating through solid objects, lending/stealing speed, etc…

All that said, as Brian pointed out, it’s not “who would win in a fight?” it’s “who is your favorite?”

Superman is the most beloved and most powerful hero of all time. Let’s meander for a moment….near invulnerability, incredible strength, flight, heat vision, freeze breath, etc….
All the flash can do is run fast. Not as fast as Kal-El.
Supes would clearly dominate.

Looks like there was an obvious Flash fanboy out there that skewed the vote.

It’s not who’s popular with the readers, it’s who’s popular with the nerds in power at the company.

Also, a popular character can’t always overcome unpopular stories. Personally I liked the middle of Tom Peyer’s run and the first couple of issues of Alan Burnett’s, and I even thought Waid’s relaunch was okay if not fantastic — but the stories, the art, and supporting cast didn’t resonate with readers who had already been burned on first Bart’s relaunch and second Bart’s death, and saw DC changing direction every time sales slipped — which was frequently.
