I always appreciate it when creators put up web sites, especially when they look as good as Geoff Johns’ new web site, geoffjohns.com.
Johns’ new site includes a new promotional poster for Flash: Rebirth.

I’ll appreciate it a lot more if he actually posts on there with a decent frequency, myself. My other favorite writer, Grant Morrison, has a site, but the last time he updated it Dark Knight had just had its opening weekend in theatres.
I’m obviously not saying they have to be daily or anything (especially not coming from a guy with a workload like Geoff’s), but once a week would be nice.

I love Geoff Johns, and I honestly think he’s been the best straight-up superhero writer doing the rounds over the past few years (by a fair margin, at that). But something about that promo poster is unintentionally hilarious.

That poster isn’t very good.

Is there a version of that poster with the “to him” removed, yet? I’ve seen the joke made a couple times, but I haven’t seen any photoshoppery.

I can’t decide if that poster is hysterical or pathetic or both.
No, wait, both.

Oh yeah, totally, a nice site is useless if Johns does not actually post on it. But since he just started it the other day, I think we can be optimistic and think that he’ll update it with some regularity!

I hear it’s just a rehash of Gardner Fox’s website.

You know, in the 90s when the lightning effect was first used with the Flash (created by Weiringo I believe), it was a very cool and novel visual effect. But now it just looks like he’s a running electrical storm, it’s become so overdone. Especially when done by Ethan Van Sciver. Very talented artists, but often busy and detailed just for the sake of being busy and detailed. Someone has to tell him that less is more. Way too much lightning and extra arms there buddy. It doesn’t make him appear faster, it just makes the pic appear cramped and spastic.
