Heh heh heh.

Hey, I can say my hands are clean of the sin since I haven't bought an Amazing Spiderman in about a year in protest....(.but then again I always thought it to be a clever ploy to boost USM sales...which I bought)

Maybe he reads them on torrents. Books I don't like but am curious to see if they'll get better (or have a morbid curiosity to see how much worse they can get) I read through torrents. Books I genuinely like I support by buying the actual book. If a book I don't like and download suddenly starts improving in quality, I will switch to buying it.

My point is it's possible to read and keep up with a bad book without actually buying it.

Agh! Scratch that, I reread it and realized what Josh was holding in his hand. By the way, great shocked expression there Brandon.

I was that guy for too long. I feel much better since I dropped Superman/Batman and Squadron Supreme. Good one!

The punch line is better without the last bit of dialogue.

But ya, it seem like everyone on the internet is like the first guy.

That's funny...i LIKED the last line. I thought it made the strip.

Yes.

YES.

This comic is way good.

Haha. I thought the main charecter was reading various comics while the guy was ranting at first. Then I noticed the colored pile of comics he was ringing up, after the next to last panel. Perhaps you could have made the fact that he was ringing them up more obvious. I am no cartoonist though. That would have made me lose the scrolling up and noticing the little pile of books though ha.

I agree with bad trotsky, but it's a great strip either way.

Brilliant. I was just talking about this (comic fans buying books they hate) at the shop the other day. One of my customers actually had the guts to admit that he wanted to try the Patsy Walker: Hellcat mini, and I applauded him for reading good comics instead of top-selling stuff. Of course, we then launched into a mini-rant that was the diametric opposite of this strip, but just as nerdy. :P

People that do that ARE what's wrong with life. If you don't like it but are giving them your money then you are sending entirely the wrong message.
Great strip.

Yeah I was like that for way too long a time. I feel so much better after I had given up all the spiderman and avengers titles and whatnot. I recently started picking up the Slott book though just to check it out. I used to be so bad that I had the whole collection of the Marvel Knights Elektra series from the early noughties, man I used to read some crap and know that I was at the same time. Chuck Austen even wrote some and for that I feel dirty.

"Maybe he STEALS THEM. Books I don’t like but am curious to see if they’ll get better (or have a morbid curiosity to see how much worse they can get) I STEAL. Books I genuinely like I support by buying the actual book. If a book I don’t like and STEAL suddenly starts improving in quality, I will switch to buying it.

My point is it’s possible to read and keep up with a bad book without actually buying it."

Fixed it for you.
