but really, COPS (Central Organization of Police Specialists) did it better than Alan Moore’s Top Ten.

Is this the same COPS as the old cartoon. It was on at 6:30 am so I watched it a lot while getting ready for school back in my middle school days.

Brian Cronin doesn’t get mean, he gets hilarious & passive aggressive!

Gentlemen (and one or two ladies)… we’re all missing the point here.
C.O.P.S. needs to be made into a feature-film!

That cover is the funniest fucking thing I have ever seen.

aww man, I love COPS. Bulletproof Vess was badass.
Screw GI Joe…someone needs to make a movie outta this, as Dario so succinctly put.

“C.O.P.S. needs to be made into a feature-film!”
People would be confused by a marquee about “Cops: the movie” or anything like that — you know, bad boys, bad boys, whatchu gonna do…

Whoah, that looks like serious business indeed. And GIANT-sized.

Did Top Ten have a renegade cop who used a robotic elephant to get all righteous on crime? C.O.P.S. was sorta cool.

This little series, Brian? Brilliant.
Also, back when the toy line was active, in my family we decided that “COPS” was an acronym for Cheap Old Plastic S—.

Bart Sears — he of the Brute and Babe drawing column from early Wizard issues — did the conceptual design for C.O.P.S. That’s why so many of the male heroes have chests like Chevy big-block engines.

Is someone else feeling like a contentious curmudgeon this morning?
And Miz Demeanor was scary.

Man, I wanted to like this series (animated and comic) more than I did.
They should have changed the acronym to POS.

Long Arm was my favorite, because I was already such a nerd I tried to figure out how he was related to Bionic Commando. Also, I remember a PSA tag they did where he yelled at kids for stealing stop signs. I loved that show.

So fighting crime in a future time involves simply charging down the street in a hovercraft with all guns blazing (along w/giant hand-cuff shooting)? SIGN ME UP!

This is like the Simpsons, we thought Police and Cops, Police Cops!

@ George Salire – I’m pretty sure COPS even beat GI Joe to the ridiculous “good guys and bad guys team up against second drug dealing bad guy just to show that drugs are SO BAD even the normal bad guys hate them” episode

I fucking loved C.O.P.S. as a kid. I still have a couple of the figures somewhere.

What the fuck are they shooting at? Everyone’s firing in a different direction…

Maybe they’re trying to shoot down a large target. Or maybe they’re shooting at several assailants at once.
Or maybe the artist just thought it looked cool.

I thought that they were just shooting their guns off in sheer enthusiasm for their work.
I watched C.O.P.S. religiously afterschool as a child. I recall being particularly touched by the troubled romance of one of the cops with one of the crooks.
I’ve had two issues of this run for the longest time and re-read them several months ago and I was surprised at how well written they were. One of them is that awesome one the other poster mentioned with the rogue cop and his Tramplur bot.
This series has my vote for more coverage on this site. And while I’m at it, I don’t think a piece on the Sundevils would go unappreciated around these parts as well.
