jhota, in fairness to Dan, Phonogram was not up there when he made his comment. I saw his comment, thought to myself, “Huh? Phonogram is not an action comic!” and then realized that while I had 24 comics uploaded, only 21 of them were visible. So I made the other three visible, and, of course, Phonogram was one of those missing covers.

“Now, besides being from Image Central, what do these books all have in common? Basically NOTHING ELSE!” They are all action comics. They are diverse, and I love a lot of these titles, but they are all, in part, slugfests.

Phonogram (specifically, Phonogram 2: Singles Club), is not a slugfest. in any way, shape, or form.

Image is pushing out a ton of excellent product these days. I miss Brit like no other, though. That was one of my favorite series last year. Thankfully, Invincible and Dynamo 5 are still around. And, Viking's shaping up nicely.

Without a doubt, Dynamo 5, Noble Causes and Age of Bronze are three of my absolute favorite comics, month in, month out (or “were”, sadly, in the case of Noble Causes).

Seriously, Image comics may have put out some good stuff over the years, but they have also put out their share of crap, like any other company. You should stick to choosing specific titles instead. Also: WALL OF PICTURES!!!

I have a feeling reverse psychology regarding Quasar will be transparant. I’m not Ben Linus, more of a Trix Rabbit. If the Trix Rabbit all of the sudden started begging and pleading for trix to be taken away from him, you’d simply say “okay, then.”

Although maybe if I name-check all the other Qs out there, it will disqualify them…! You just said Clay Quartermain and Lady Quark, so let me add to that Mr. Quimper from Invisibles. All substandard to Quasar.

You know why Image was founded, right? Liefeld and Valentino and Portacio were all fighting because only one of them was allowed to draw Quasar, and they decided they’d rather stay friends and leave than have to make that terrible choice. Don’t believe me? The Quasar artist at that time was Greg Capullo, who’d soon get the call up to the bigs to work on Spawn.

You also forgot Deep Sleeper! Just re-read that one recently, it’s a beautiful piece of work.

I agree, Image has done great things. It’s really come a long way from the superhero line introduced in the 90′s to becoming a true “alternative” publisher (but still having superheroes for those who love them).
