JackKing: Yeah, the I Am Legion trade has the entire series, not just the part that DC got to. The most recent issue from Devil’s Due was a new one, which was nice to see.

Jesse: I’m not quite sure what’s hilarious about it. If it makes you feel better, I asked my wife about the fashion, because she knows a lot more about it than I do. But even I know that ripped jeans are really unfashionable these days.

Both Captain America Omnibuses (Vol.1 & 2, although they don’t call them like that) contain issue 25. It’s important when you try to market the death of Captain America every which way you can.

There’s something hilarious to me about a comic book reviewer commenting on what is and isn’t in fashion. HILARIOUS.

Dagger has the same face that every other Dodson female does.

Mary Jane’s out-dated/cheap, trashy jeans are a perfect example of the horrible sense of fashion that most comic artists have. Especially the cheesecake ones, oddly enough.

Does the “I am Legion” trade merely have the same issues as the DC/Humanoids print or does it have new issues as well?
Also, I love Frazer Irving art. Anything he does gets a buy from me. But where the hell is Gutsville?

You should definitely buy Killer of Demons; it was quite good and I want the sequel.

I hope Red Herring goes to trade, even though, being an untested and likely-to-be-ignored property from Wildstorm, its sales will be abysmal. But I love Bond’s art.

I don’t know, I thought Detectives Inc. was a pretty solid read. I mean, you’ve got Gene Colan and Marshall Rogers on art! How’s that not cool? The story is pretty good too. IT’s your basic burned out/on the edge detective buddy story, but it’s a well told burned out/on the edge detective buddy story. The first series, with Colan on art, was a bit better than the Rogers one, but they’re both very solid comics. The only reason I’m not picking up the HC is because I have the trades that Image put out a few years ago, and finances don’t allow any double dipping just now…

Also, very excited to see the Grimjack mini in comic form. I’d been following it over on ComicMix.com, but being thd old (32) year old fogie I am, I still like my comics in printed format. IDW should also be bringing us Grell’s most recent Jon Sable mini-series, Ashes Of Eden, in comic form as well. And much agreed on hoping IDW will get back to the trades for both series…

You know, I always doubted the Essential/Showcase format. But, i got a whole bunch of Avengers and Defenders Essentials on sale and must say, I love them. You are right, 20 issues at a pop is a great way to read comics. Plus, they are relatively cheap so they are like recession busters.

I like Hulk comics, but I’m feeling Hulk-fatigued. My intention is to try everything in August and see where my interests lie. If Red Hulk is going in his own, independent direction, then I’ll just consider him to be another “Dark Hulk” a la “Dark Wolverine” and “Sinister Spider-Man” and decide I don’t need to read him. I have no idea why or how “Son of Hulk” can continue without Skaar, so that’s also up in the air (and I expect will face cancellation after 6). Herc, I like, but I can’t decide if it’s a Hulk title or not.

The worst part about this is figuring out how to arrange my Hulk collection on my bookshelf. I prefer chronological, but everything gets muddy after World War Hulk.

She is. She first appeared when, the early 1980s? In that time, the Power Pack kids have gone on to become teenagers. Even Franklin Richards is (finally) 10 years old. (This is of course, not counting the current Power Pack series or Franklin: Son of A genius, neither of which is set in actual Marvel continuity.) “Marvel Time” seems to pass at a rate of about 1 year every four actual years. Dagger (and Cloak) must be in their late teens at the least now, certainly old enough for Dagger to have boobs.

Besides, do you really want a 13-year-old girl wearing such a slutty costume?

Re: Hulk comics. “God-fucking-dammit” indeed. I think that pretty much sums it up.

Re: Giarusso. I loved the rather plaintive attempt to get people to try out G-Man, posted to his web site when the first book came out. Like “new characters, they’re okay, really! Try them!” It was funny because you know there really are tons of people who won’t give G-Man a look because there’s no Spidey or li’l Wolverine. Which is a shame because it’s funny stuff.
