The abandonment of many of my favorite titles for months at a time (if not permanently) is a large part of why my pull list is rapidly getting pared down to nothing. The Killer, The Damned, Fell, Planetary, Desolation Jones, newuniversal, Red Mass for Mars… it’s really hard to justify buying these books when you have no idea whether you’ll ever get any kind of a complete story from them.

newuniversal was cancelled?!?!? Crap… that was one of my favorite Marvel books to come out in a while. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the 2nd trade.

Yeah, it’s about time on Planetary, but I’m really waiting for more Fell.

You can count me in for that Strange Tales Max series too.

Also, I’d hate to become the resident grammar-whiner, but you should check the difference between fewer and less, Bill. It should be “…fewer D-list celebrities.” Sorry, but I can’t help myself.

Ya know, not to be one of those people, but the prospect of no more DJones or Fell kind of pisses me off. I know it’s apples to oranges, but I can’t think of another medium where turning out a percentage of a story would be, I don’t know, acceptable isn’t the right word…received with a shrug, maybe? I guess TV is the other place this could happen, but it seems like there and with DC or Marvel cancellations there is at least some closure for the characters and story as opposed to the dropping off in mid-story that happens in comics.

And I know that we got a lot of swell done-in-one procedurals out of Fell and a nifty Chandler-esque arc out of Jones (and please know that 99% of the reason for my kvetching is a selfish desire to read more about the worlds and characters created by Mr Ellis), but, but…what’s up with the Nixon nun? Why was Richard “banished” to Snowtown? How in the holy F did Snowtown get so messed up/neglected? Jones “ended” 2 chapters into an arc, right? I read enough of Ellis’ online ramblings and backmatter to know that there were answers to many of these questions. Will I never know the output of all that research and thinking on Philip K Dick that was to go into Jones second arc?

Mostly, just damnit.

I believe Ellis’ scripts for Jones and Fell and perhaps even newuniversal were eaten in the great computer crash of ’0-whenever, which would admittedly burn him out on rewriting them. But you never know.

I’d suspect that all three are done forever. I seem to remember that newuniversal was officially cancelled. Fell was a wonderful experiment, but Templesmith can make much more money on other projects. If I were Templesnith, I wouldn;t bother with Fell again.

I used to watch Best Week Ever, but I stopped when that Thompkins fellow took over the show. He’ was nver as funny as the rest.

Sonic Disruptors being completed?!? The one written by Mike Baron and drawn by Barry Crain? The one where seven out of 12 issues where done and then abandoned?

I’d definetely like to know what happened way back then and why the resurrection now?
Wonder if DC’s gonna reprint the first seven issues to refresh people’s memory.

I’d personally prefer to hear when Desolation Jones/Fell/Newuniversal is coming back and not just only Planetary.

It would actually be pretty easy to put together a superhero version of “Best Week Ever,” with Lois Lane and Funky Flashman and Alfred Pennyworth and Oberon sitting around snarking off about what happened in the latest alien invasion that week. “Of course we appreciate what Power Girl did in downtown L.A. on Wednesday, but for God’s sake, what is UP with that outfit? How much work did she have done on those breasts anyway?” I’d totally watch that show.

I AM BUYING THE HELL OUT OF THIS: Finally, that “indie Marvel” project is a go. Strange Tales MAX (interesting it’s coming from the mature readers imprint) is three issues of the best indie creators going nuts on Marvel characters. The biggest news of all is that it’s finally allowing Peter Bagge’s Incorrigible Hulk to see the light of day. I don’t think I’ll be able to wait for the trade on this. Gurewich, Jason, Kupperman, Pope, Shaw, and more. Three issues, 48 pages each, four bucks, September. Sold.

Oh, hell yes!

Consider that ordered.

Also: I’m surprised you didn’t mention Morrison announcing that Frazer Irving would be drawing Batman & Robin‘s third arc. That’s surely news of note.
