Michelle -- I'm not sure but lately it might have to do with the fact that Diamond changed warehouses recently.... Because 20th Boys is a good seller in the direct market I think....

I've had that happen with Red River, another VIZ title. I wonder if it has more to do with Diamond and their ordering limits. Like... said title has to get X number of orders from shops before Diamond will fill them? I'm not actually sure how all that works, to be honest, but it seems like it could be a factor.

20th Cent. Boys vol 2 shipped VERY late to my LCBS and they were *pissed*.

Yeah, it's coming out today. One of the stores I go to is quite vexed that Viz is releasing this to bookstores before it goes to comic book stores. They probably do more of their business in bookstores, however.

I loved this series from the beginning, and can't wait to read volume 3. I'm grumpy with envy that you got a copy early!

22 volumes total (I think?). Because there are 20 volumes of 20th Century Boys and 2 volumes of the sequel 21st Century Boys. Not sure how Viz plans to deal with that issue of it technically being two series in Japan.

Just how long is the series? Not that it matters, because I've never read a volume of any of Urasawa's manga that has disappointed me ever.

Yes, more 20th century boys. I love how long this series is but Urasawa makes every single volume feel important or critical to the story. No decompression here, my friends.
