Comic Critics Year One! (#73)

Here is the one-year anniversary of the Comic Critics strip, courtesy of Sean Whitmore (writer) and Brandon Hanvey (artist)! You can check out the first seventy-two strips at the archive here and you can read more about Sean and Brandon at the Comic Critics blog.

To celebrate the event, I even make a guest appearance, as I interview Sean and Brandon!

Enjoy!

*sigh* As usual, the final panel just doesn’t work.

Ah, that’s cute. Fantastic strip, hope it lasts a looong time.

I don’t get it. Man, this strip sucks.

Is that supposed to look like Brian? I always thought he was a dog with an aerial…

Ha! Great one, although I kept expecting for Marissa and Josh to show up and say something outrageous or start arguing with the authors!

Another fan here who hopes the strip goes on for a loooooooooooooooooong time, too!

The internet ate the punchline.

You forgot to ask them what their favorite curse word is, Mr. Lipton.

Man, everybody else stole my jokes. Oh well, guess I’ll just congratulate Sean and Brandon on the comic.

I was not aware that Rick wasn’t white.

They capture you perfectly, but like everyone else I was disappointed you didn’t have a great one liner in the last panel.

@ Bill Reed: Also “What would you like to hear Grant Morrison say when you arrive in heaven?” Or “Favorite sound effect? Least favorite?”

Here’s to another year of “why is this strip still on CBR? IT SUCKS!”

I’m glad you guys can ask for and take criticism, both constructive and unconstructive. You usually make me laugh a couple times a week!

Agreed; one panel too long. Suffering from Ctrl-Alt-Del syndrome here.

Keep up the great work guys. I always enjoy reading your strips.

Cronin’s beard don’t look like that!
It’s full of mystical power and the occassional Pez that missed his mouth.

” There is no word in the English language to describe how great this is, so I’ll invent one; Scrumptulesent!”– Will Ferrel’s Alex Lipton

Congratulations on your first year. Here’s to many more.

Aw, I was hoping for a Year One parody. Oh well. Congratulations!

It’s only a matter of time before we get the Cronin action figure now. Clear off some shelf space.

Man, I would totally buy a Cronin action figure! Where’s McFarlane to design it?

I just drew a beard on my Clark Kent toy from the DCSH line.

I was hoping for more of a “Who You Are And How You Came To Be” rather than … that. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy your strip (but you don’t read FREAKANGELS? For shame, sirs.)

I was not aware that Rick wasn’t white.

Neither was I

[...] Congratulations as Eben07 hits 100 strips and has a Limited Artist Edition of the For the Love of Russia book. (They also have some cool shirt designs they are considering.) Also, congrats to the Comic Critics on hitting their one year mark. [...]

I wanna!

I’m just waiting for a Sunday or something where I’ve got nothing to do so I can read and catch up. (Same with Dr. McNinja)

Thanks for the well wishes. Friday’s comic will be up later this evening since I had to finish this comic first.

As for Rick being non-white, we’ve never said it out right but he is latino.

His skin tone is browner than the white characters.

“Is that supposed to look like Brian? I always thought he was a dog with an aerial…”

Sophisticated AI programs can take any guise they want. ;)

Congrats on a year well done, guys!
