A Year of Cool Comic Book Moments – Day 172
Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here‘s the archive of the moments posted so far!
Today continues a multi-part look at perhaps the most classic Hitman story ever.
Enjoy!
Hitman #14 (by Garth Ennis and John McCrea) continues the four friends/assassins night at the Gotham Aquarium where they’re surrounded by zombie sea life.
First, here’s perhaps my favorite single panel from the story…

Now, on to today’s moment – it happens when the guys head to the Shark Encounter area…

“The” moment here is tough – the dolphin attack was trippy, as was the shark attack at the end, but it’s also hard to turn down the reaction where Hacken learns he cut his hand off for no reason (as seen yesterday).
Hmmm…I guess I still have to go with the shark bit. It’s pretty dramatic.

You can post “A year of cool comic book moments” from Hitman alone.
Up to five years, I believe.

Yay, pics work now.
I think I gotta go with Hacken finding out he didn’t need to cut his hand off. It’s small but it’s priceless.
Gads, undead chum, smoking flipper, mass penguin decapitation… lots of twistedly good stuff on those pages.

There’s still one more great moment: the final shot of the mad sicentist, who is now about 23% person and 77% bite mark.

The cool thing is that McCrea never forgot to draw that chainsaw damage to Nat’s hat for the whole rest of the run.

Thats Funny considering he made the error of drawing Hacken with both hands on page 7

My favorite HITMAN moment was an issue where they need to get a hold of Catwoman. Their method made total sense and was funny as hell.

This is so cool. The expression is priceless. Little details, like the fingers being blown to pieces.
