A Year of Cool Comic Book Moments - Day 179
Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the moments posted so far!
Today we continue looking at another issue from early in Walt Simonson's Thor run.
Enjoy!
When last we saw Beta Ray Bill, he more or less successfully defeated Thor in battle.
Now, in The Mighty Thor #339, both Thor and Beta Ray Bill are nursing their wounds and Odin and Beta Ray Bill have a frank discussion...

This leads to the following awesome scene...

"The" moment is that last page right there.
So cool.

Man, there's nothing finer than a Simonson-drawn, Workman-lettered comic.

I love how they're all wearing safety goggles. Asgard must have some very responsible science teachers!

I love how Stormbreaker is so damn powerful that it actually gives off what appears to be the negative image of Kirby krackle.

Very cool sequence! The forging of Stormbraker is one of my favorite parts in the initial Beta Ray Bill story arc.

Bill Read: you are absolutely right. They simply mesh perfectly. Oh, that's also true for Howard Chaykin!

The moment I saw those big sound effects I thought of Chaykin
