Where I definitively rank each strip so you can finally stop wondering if Sgt. Rock being beaten by Nazis for four weeks is better than emo Superman crashing with his parents because no one gets him. You’re welcome.

In that I went a Wednesday without comics because everybody who works at my LCS went to San Diego for the con. Not that I blame them, but I couldn’t help but feel a little abandoned. But never mind my emotional baggage, I have two weeks worth of comics to redundantly review!
What I bought – 22 and 29 July 2009
Two weeks of reviews! Normally I’d just skip last week’s haul, but what the hell. I’m sure the kids can look after themselves, right? I’ll try to keep the ones about last week’s books short, though. The operative word being “try.”

Continuing my in depth, critical survey of Norse mythological superheroics of the 1980s. Short form: It’s great and everyone should own it. The rest of this post is pretty much overkill, but you can read it if you want to, I guess.

With various caveats*, sure, but still; there’s finally going to be a Scott Pilgrim video game! That took long enough.
Danielle Leigh’s Reading Diary — Oishinbo: Fish, Sushi & Sashimi
With the fourth collection of Oishinbo, we return to Shiro Yamaoka’s — our protagonist and all-round lazy journalist — quest to put together “the Ultimate [Japanese] Menu”! This volume focuses on raw fish for the most part, which means it is pretty much a delightful education in a food form I know very little about.
