It's 16 total pages, and each page is 4 times the size of a regular comic, making this the equivalent of 64 pages.

This IS going to be tough to collect in trade form. The 2 obvious choices would be to shrink the images, or to make the collection as big or bigger than an Absolute Edition.

Oh yeah, this really lived up to my expectations. This, along with some of the Vertigo trades, should prove that we can in fact have nice art on newsprint-ish paper.

With this title though, I intend to hang up one page every day in my classroom to allow for the kids to get 15 serialized stories over the course of the school year. Anything to get their noses out of their crack like DS’s and PSP’s and into the slightly less addictive realm of comics. Plus, if I get them hooked on comics, then I can bum some off of them.

Are we ever going to get past the Batman tv show with these BAM! POW! articles on comics?

Why does this bother fans so much? Sound effects are a big part of superhero comic book history. There have been more Batman comics throughout history with BAM! POW! sound effects than without them. Why do we fans always act so ashamed of anything that reveals superhero comics for what they traditionally are?

I though the first installment was very good. I love the format; it really makes the artwork look great. Only the Wonder Woman and Teen Titans strips didn't really work for me- too much going on in the former, not enough in the latter. I loved seeing Paul Pope channelling Alex Raymond, and Kamandi being done a la Prince Valiant. The Iris West romance strip that accompanied Flash was a cute touch. This definitely lived up to my expectations.

Am I the only one who thinks this is going to be a failure for: a) It's really high pice (12 pages por 4 dollars!) b) The fact that it's not going to be aviable in newstands, where the old-style format would surely be atractive for even non-fans.

Not until the kids who grew up on B:TAS take over the print industry (doesn't help that most newspaper readers skew older these days).

And since the print industry will be long dead by the time that happens... nope.

This is so incredible looking. The retro feel of it all - I love it! Getting exposure to the masses in USA Today is a brilliant idea. Nice move DC. I love comic book art in this oversize format. Please continue this - both USA Today and DC.

Definitely gonna pick this up today (the creators on this thing on are too amazing not to -- Gaiman/Allman on Metamorpho!!!!!), but I'm really curious as to how DC is planning to collect this thing when its done (e.g., as a "newspaper" sized book, as a book with fold-outs, etc.). At Wizard World Philly, DC's Bob Wayne stated that they did definitely plan on collecting it.

Great art, but the story ran really short. But then, it's supposed to. Reminds me of when I read the Spider-Man strip in the papers as a kid.

I'm pretty sure it was annouced as a 12 issue thing. Which is probably a good thing- it's tough to maintain quality on a weekly basis. I'm sure if it's a success they'll try it again.
