It was great to see you and meet your daughter, Greg! Holy crap, I'm still not fully recovered from that whirlwind. Good to see you came home with one helluva haul.

And Bill: "Count the bald guys" would have been impossible at that place. Your suggestion reminded me of a time in high school when some buddies and I sat down with a videotape of "Cobra" and tried to take an accurate body count without stopping the tape. By the end we all had completely different tallies. Why? At about the 60 minute mark, the bullet-riddled bodies all started to look the same.

Whoa, I can't imagine going ten years without going to the beach - having been in cities with coasts since I was six, it just seems so bizarre that people live without them!

You brought a shit load of books man - we're expecting the reviews tomorrow!

And Beasts Of Burden will rule!
The one off stories in the Dark Horse Halloween anthologies were sweet!

Did you play "count the bald guys"? I would've.

And proper drinking time is anywhere between 6pm and 5am. But it would maybe have to be all day at something as massive as Comicon, as booze is the only thing that would get me into such a crowded place without clawing my own skin off.

I'm sure the drive up must've been fun fun fun, assuming my memories of that very route (to Disneyland back in the summer of probably '82, when I was living in Phoenix) serve me well & no new roadways have been created or anything.

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to reading this later (I'm sort of supposed to be working now, sad to say). I'd vastly rather *read* about cons, particularly big ones, than actually *attend* one; just from the looks of things, & given my memories of the World SF Con in New Orleans (only large-ish con I've ever been to, & then only for an afternoon) back in 9/88, if I'd been in SD I would've been on the brink of suicide &/or homicide every minute I was there. As they say, that's just how I (don't) roll.
