I'll recommend Demons Of Sherwood to you, Greg. I read it over at ComicMix's website and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a little depressing at first to see Robin and Marian and the others off in such dire straits, but 'redemption' is a good summation of the story. There's a nice twist at the end too.

I have no idea who that guest star in Tarot is either, but it just goes to show you that Jim Balent lives in his own little world. Full of huge breasted women. Running around naked. Together. Uh...what was I saying? Either way, Mr. Balent, I tip my hat to you, sir.

That Batman/Doc Savage book is my most anticipated book of the month. I really, really hope it doesn't suck because I am so excited to see DC taking another chance on the Man Of Bronze after having mixed results with him in the late 80's...

And that Hellblazer cover? Awesome. Your retailer must be the Corinthian and have teeth for eyes or something to miss out on that....

I noticed the "for reelz" line in the Dark Avengers solicits and cringed. Unless Marvel is having some sort of "spot the embarrassingly lame solicit" contest or something, there really is no excuse for it.

Both written by Kirkman - isn't that enough to get the haterZ on board?

Not really - Kirkman has shown, most noticeably in his column comparing Liefeld favourably to Kirby - that he can't be objective when it comes to his 90's love, and these titles look straight out of the worst parts of the 90's - not 'Image launch style books done right' just 'image launch style books'... and that makes people cautious.

I'm really looking forward to both Image United and Haunt - probably moreso than anything else in years.

I just overheard my retailer talking about them, and that's what he believed. I wonder if he had checked it out or if he was just repeating rumors.

You'd hope that he'd actually look into things, y'know, if he wants to make money.

I would've thought the easy way to get the cash back is to make it 'if you want to buy the ring that comes with REBELS #10, you got to buy an issue of REBELS #10' - that's not a bad marketing ploy for all involved - DC and the retailer sell more REBELS #10, fans who want the ring can get the ring and try out REBELS #10.

John Ostrander writes Suicide Squad #15 (I mean Secret Six #15; page 87; 4 November). That should make Bill Reed happy. But Jim Calafiore draws it. That will make Bill Reed sad. Will he choose to buy it or not? The world holds its breath!!!!!

I gots me the trade of Secret Six.
It kicked much arse.
Best thing Gail Simone's ever written in my opinion.

Batgirl dances the Watusi? Really, DC? Aren't you, you know, forgetting something about your past?

'You interest me strange lady, I accept your invitation.' is the greatest line Batman has ever said.

Of course, this is 30 dollars - I think I actually spent less for the first ten issues than that. So there's that

I got them for a buck or two each.
That said, the colouring is horrific and really muddles the art - if they've re-coloured it, it may be worth the cash.

I'm so psyched Scott Ian is going to be writing a comic book. He wrote some fantastic songs and he always had a lot of character. I'm not usually a big fan of Lobo, but he'll be suited to it I think. And drawn by Sam Keith! Can't wait!

The second Deadpool ongoing is much better than what Way was doing in the pre-existing series, and with Van Lente drawing the third, that's likely to be even better... maybe by the 5th we'll have something worthy of Joe Kelly! Or they could just ask him back.

"So "Necrosha" is all about old heroes and villains coming back from the dead and menacing the current heroes? Gosh, I wonder where Marvel got that idea ..."

From Kurt Busiek's and George Perez's run on Avengers.

Definitely go read all the Joe Sacco books you can find right away! It's not like you need to use the time to read Black Hole!

Batman: The Cult really isn't any good. I wouldn't advise anybody to read it. Go find some other Wrightson stuff instead.

I have been waiting for that Action Philosophers book for a long time. I'm thrilled to hear it's including new stories!

Tank Girl with added swearing must have extra pages stapled in.

I think that's a pretty good Hellblazer cover. Why wouldn't it be? Is the demon a little static looking? Speaking of, does anybody else think that Cassady SWORD cover is really ugly? The anatomy seems really off.

Well, you certainly can watch Dr. Horrible for free on Hulu if you like, but if you shell out for the DVD you also get Commentary: The Musical! which is fall-down funny.

The lantern rings are not free for the retailers and cost $8 a bag., and Blackest Night #5, Adventure Comics #4 and Justice League of America #38 require FIFTY, not twenty-five, copies to be purchased.

I was thinking that was true, Cass, but I didn't go back and check it. It didn't seem to me that it had happened that long before the flashbacks, though. It still gets back to the fast and loose with the time in comics - Bushman had been fine the last time we saw him, which was years before, but not that long in "Marvel time." For me to believe the solicit text, Moon Knight would have had to defaced Bushman before the first Moon Knight series back in 1980. And that didn't happen.

I think too much about this stuff, I know.

The face-ectomy of Bushman takes place in flashbacks at the beginning of the Moon Knight series, we never actually watch the butchery as it occurs. So "years ago" is fair game.

You know me too well, Burgas. But I probably won't buy that comic.

You should watch Dr. Horrible, though. I mean, it's on Hulu, for free, and everything.

That is a bitchin' Hellblazer cover.

I hope Beta Ray Bill shows up in SWORD.

Benito Cereno wrote Tales from the Bully Pulpit. This is all you need to know to buy The Tick.

Actually, i'm pretty sure dr. Horrible is on hulu still. And as a dedicated whedonite, I am required by law to tell you that it is totally worth 40 minutes of your time!

You forgot to mention the other half of the awesomeness of Dr. Horrible... Nathan Fillion. If it were biologically possible I'd have that man's babies.
