Hawkeye II actually uses weapons from several Avengers. She only got the name because at the time Hawkeye was ‘dead’ so it was up for grabs (and Marvel can’t let a name rest unused for long for fear someone else will trademark it- see: the FOUR Spider-Women) Since it’s a given that Haweye will eventually reclaim his name (“Ronin” sucks) she’ll eventually have to get another name.

So, the term “If only…” is now permanently associated with the WTC attacks?

No, I’m not saying that. I’m just saying that today, the day before the anniversay of the attacks, I can understand how the phrase “If only…” followed by the ellipsis, might be confusing to some. Two days before, or two days after, and nobody notices. Today and tomorrow, I can see how there might be some confusion.

That’s all I’m saying.

I don’t think anybody is saying that Brian can’t title his posts what he wants, and I don’t think anybody really cares, but I can definitely see why someone would be confused.

It’s like having a title like “It’s beginning to look a lot like– 12/24…” and have the inside continue “… Superman’s got his hands full with Lois this week.

the poin tof the piece was suppose to be if only marvel would dare to label their characters who are not the orignal version like hobogoblin though that picture looks kind of lame. and the huntress tt is the current one.

Those dates aren’t off the table, but with an entry labeled “If Only–9/10…” I can see how some people would think that the entry would be about the WTC attack. Like “If Only–we had known one day earlier.” Like that.

I simply noticed, in the list of recent entries on the main CBR page, that it was the only entry with a date in front of it, (like so: http://i32.tinypic.com/2yyrtrb.jpg )so I figured it was important in some way.

I could understand people’s confusion if the actually date was 9/11, but since it’s not…???? So is any date close to 9/11 off the table now? No 9/9, 9/10, 9/12, 9/13?
