Pshaw. I’m pretty sure I was living in ARIZONA when I went to long-sleeves-only. (That is, I always buy long-sleeve shirts, even though most of the time I roll the sleeves up. Like right now, for instance.) Living most of my adult life in Arkansas, except for a short sojourn in the New Orleans area & now in Alabama (neither of which will ever be confused with the Arctic Circle, barring another Ice Age), has made no difference whatsoever.

I pretty much never have long sleeves regardless of the weather.

In the summer I don’t need long sleeves. In the winter I’ll have a coat on if I’m outside and I don’t need long sleeves indoors.

What’s the problem with short sleeves?

All of a sudden I feel soooooo much better about myself — except for T-shirts (which I very rarely wear), ALL my shirts have long sleeves. (I can’t abide button-down shirts with short sleeves, for some reason.)

Also, since no one else is wondering why the character’s skin in light purple, I presume my monitor is being weird.
