A Year of Cool Comic Book Moments – Day 273

Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here‘s the archive of the moments posted so far!

Here is the last cool Casanova moment, from the beginning of the second storyline!

Matt Fraction is still the writer, but Gabriel Ba’s twin brother Fabio Moon takes over on the art, and we see Casanova Quinn is now pretty settled in to his life as an agent for the “good” spy organization EMPIRE…

then we see the following…

the robot basically destroys the plane, leading to this…

Wow, what a way to end the first chapter of a storyline!

“When is Casanova Quinn?” – such a great moment.

Such a great cliffhanger.

While it is not “the” moment, I love the way they subtly let us know a lot of time has passed from the first page to the first time we see who we THINK is Casanova.

Great work.

Sometimes when my defenses are down, I dare to dream of them one day collecting Casanova volume 2.

*sigh*….I do wish they’d come out with the V2 trade. (Or better yet a big honkin’ hardcover of 1-14).

As much as I liked vol. 1, vol. 2 was veven better. The story went deeper, the characters went through a life-changing series of events, and the ending was exceptional.

The one bad thing about Casanova volume 2 was the awful blue coloring. These scans fail to capture the burning sensation from the freshly printed books.
