I don't read Spider-Man, but I'm interested in this Tommy Boy allusion. Anyone care to fill me in?

Quoting Tommy Boy will never be a classical allusion.

So, why did you buy Bomb Queen, again...? You kind of lost me on that.

Personally I thought the concept seemed promising when it first appeared, but in execution it's generally a little (or a lot) too busy doing the things that it's supposedly parodying. There's a thin line, there, and Bomb Queen never seems to realize (or perhaps just doesn't care) that it's generally on the wrong side of that line to really qualify as satire.

These days almost anything with the words DC or Marvel printed on the cover is a non-starter for me. Luckily that may change come Disney and DC Entertainment's decisions in the next few years.

People (usually with a Q in their name) say the Clone Saga or the marriage ruined Spider-man. Which wasn't true at all, back then the book had integrity. I don't believe anything Marvel says about that book, but all the things they promised within a two year span was a complete lie. They never intended to give readers the things they promised. You could bet if they had done a story where the world found out that Peter Parker was Spider-man in 1995 with those writers it would of been huge and there would of been a big thing about it, including how it ended. As evidence I submit Amazing Spider-man #400 and we all know who really died in that issue. Who wants to read 3 issues a month of nothing happening, nothing can happen because it's always 'on to the next writer' for one thing. But we all know the score. It's just a sad comic made ruined by gimmicks and dishonesty.
