Awesome moment. My personal favorite Swamp Thing moment might be from the “My Blue Heaven” issue…or maybe it’s when Matt Cable tries to reach for Abby’s sould…or maybe when he builds his body out of redwoods to fight Batman…or maybe….

You catch my drift. Such a great work of art.

i think that the moment is where Swampy responds to Abby’s question, “How could you love me?” and his response is just like any man who has waited for his love of life.
Of course, her other question “You wanted to do this as, like, a symbolic thing?” and Swampy’s response is pretty great too.

I was going to suggest this section, if just for the brilliant way that the creators can coerce the readers to turn the comic sideways, and bring it back at the end. Moore and company used the medium in such awesome ways. I also like the scene in hell wherein The Demon kicks Arcane’s head between the borders of higher up panels.

I was wondering when we’d see a Swamp Thing> Personally, I was hoping for the scene where the Swamp Thing decides to un-root himself “If all else fails, call a friend.” but this was great too.

An truly unforgettable issue that has withstood the tests of time. Maybe Promethea #10 has come close to the same level of Swamp Thing # 34, but not quite surpassing it.

Swamp Thing # 34 was about love and sex, and Promethea # 10 was about sex and magic. Different approaches and artists, but both issues were beautifically drawn.

WOW, that’s great design. I can truly see now why people always bring this series up. Be honest: when you hear the words “swamp thing” and “great” in the same sentence and you haven’t read it, you would be in disbelief too!

ithat scene blew my mind for was so freaked out when swampy and Abby decided they had held off revealing their feelings long enough and came clean and acted on them. though how they wound up later on conceiving tefe that is a more interesting though creepy moment

That’s where I first read it, too. I still have no idea why the story had people talking about censure at the time. This was not your average fictional sex scene. It’s a perfectly beautiful sequence of events, culminating in a mystical union of souls.
