I agree with Andrew C. and John K.- Ron got boned up the ass without lube. He got killed off in a way that seemed like a rush to make room for the new guy. Unlike Ted Kord’s death, Ron’s demise didn’t add to a story or carry any emotional weight.

I’m hoping Ron gets a second chance. I’m also hoping Geoff Johns gets to write a new Firestorm series (like he wanted to do a few years ago, but the dumbasses at DC said no). If they throw in George Perez as artist, I will cream my jeans!

Why don’t we write all the post-JLI Justice League writers (especially the evil MAxwell Lord bunch) into the comic, give them the lighning rod electrocution/resurrect someone else rods from LSH (most recently seen in Legion of 3 Worlds) and sacrifice them ALL (and their RL careers) to resurrect the whole lot (and Ted Kord, too).

frankly, a lot of my enjoyment of comics left with the JL reboot.

I was torn between J’onn and Athur (and a little bit of Ronnie Raymond) but ultimately J’onn gets my vote.

But hopefully it won’t be the skrull version when they do bring him back. Get Michael Netzer to do it!

“Ronnie Raymond. Besides being a personal favorite, his initial death seemed the most pointless and editorially driven. I hate to say it, but I felt like he was killed for the express purpose of introducing a minority character in his role. I’m fine with that when the change feels naturally made (the newest Mr. Terrific, Jakeem Thunder, the new Question) but Jason feels like a thrust-upon-us character and I’ve never really liked him because of that. I also hated the way Ronnie was so ingloriously killed in a two-panel sequence in the middle of Identity Crisis”.
So you liked what Ronnie did to Jason’s girlfriend in BN 3?

Martian Manhunter.
Come on, folks..here’s a guy that’s a mainstay in all incarnations of the Justice League, prior to the latest one, if i’m not mistaken.
He’s one of the most trusted characters in the DCU (hell, even Batman trusts him..Okay, so Bruce has a plan to burn him should J’onn become rogue which was then used by R’a Al Ghul to burn him but still..).
He’s also one of the most powerful heroes in the DCU.
His tactical skill and knowledge alone makes him invaluable to any team.
I don’t read much of DC, but i’ve read enough of Morrison’s and Waid’s JLA to like him enough.

Aquaman. It has been a long time since we have seen the original recipe Aquaman.

He was brought back in Final Crisis.

Kendra Saunders is the most underrated character at DC — bad enough they tried to bump her off during the Final Crisis, but her death made Blackest Night even more depressing than it already is.

Really?
I think she’s over-exposed.
She was in JSA, then took over Hawkman’s book – which failed – and the put into the JLA.
They keep putting her at the center f things, but it never seems to take off.

In the old days, when superhero comics were about HEROISM and not about people dying gruesomely, they would be right. In today’s DC comics? Doubtful, except maybe those Johns has a personal liking to.

Hawkgirl – she was one of my favourite characters from the Justice League Animated series.

I don’t like the ressurection trick with Hawkman, because:

1. It’s too easy
2. I think Hawkgirl is better on her own than tied to Hawkman
3 .Strictly speaking, even if the hawks were ressurected, they would be babies and not fit for action for at least 20 years, making Superman, WW, Batman and co decidely more senior.
