“The Best Comic Ever (This Week)” is a poor title for your column. Because most weeks there simply isn’t a comic that belongs in the top FIVE HUNDRED comics ever. Why not be honest, and call you column “Best Comic of the Week”. Or, until Blackest Night and especially Dark Reign are over, you could be more accurate and call your column “Least Crappiest Comic of the Week.”

You sure your name shouldn’t be RED Lantern…?

Ehhh… I was actually disappointed by Wolverine: The List, probably because I had astronomically high expectations for it, ’cause I knew it was going to have Marvel Boy and Fantomex, and that we were all gonna vicariously geek out with Jason Aaron on using a number of Morrison’s toys. And the last Jason Aaron one-shot I read, the Fat Cobra single, was amazing. I dunno what happened this time around, but Aaron’s Marvel Boy wasn’t impressive enough or otherworldly enough, and he missed a chance to bring EVA back… plus, Fantomex isn’t actually French, remember? The issue wasn’t bad. It was even quite a good time; it just didn’t wow me like I wanted it to.

On the other hand, I did love Fantastic Four. I’m several re-reads into loving it even more, actually, I can’t believe I’m this excited about a Fantastic Four comic and that only increases with each issue. And yeah, it was an excellent comic week. Herc is great too. The Hulk family of titles (aside from Loeb’s ridiculousness, natch) are just tearing it up these days and they’ve basically been coming out weekly.

Both of Rememnder’s Punisher books were great too, and I’m not usually a Punisher fan.

Yes. I have “Get Mystique” and “Manifest Destiny.” They’re really good. I meant what Brian said. This was the first reprint in one of these Dark Reign one-shots where I hadn’t read the reprint, so it was cool to have that as an extra.

I thought SW was one good ling fight scene, as opposed to the big three way on the Hellicarrier in the first arc, so I liked it a lot on that level. I was marking out for Yo Yo, and I never expected that to happen. That said, FF was even better, and has assuaged my doubts about it (the explodo helped, I’ll admit).

Picking this up solely for Fantomex. It’s a shame so much of Grants X-men run has been ignored. When was the last creator left us with so many interesting new characters in such a short time frame?

LOL for a minute there I thought you were saying Marvel Boy and Fantomex had to make out…. I was about to rush out and get that issue RIGHT NOW. Doesn’t matter that everywhere that sells it is probably closed I’d BREAK IN. Thankfully I got to the “something disgusting” part. Wolvie then?

I knew it was gonna be Wolverine: The List. The best Grant Morrison Marvel characters teaming up with Wolverine in one of Grant Morrison’s cooler ideas against an army of zombies/religious folks(whats the difference right?) with Jason Aaron writing? I would buy every copy of this on-going multiple times, AND all merchandise associated with it.
