I really wish DC would give Cooke carte blanche to do a New Frontier-style series, including J’onn more than any other character (except for Hal, who is also awesome). I don’t get why DC can’t let go of some of their properties (older and more newly acquired) and put out some quality titles without having to label them Johnny DC or worry about how they fit into the whole DCU continuity picture.

loved how J”ohn kept changing as he watched the tube . espically as bugs Bunny and then deciding to be a decetive to earn money and turns to dick tracy. another thing that makes new frontier a new classic

For a scene that can only be achieved in comics, it’s surprising that this was done pretty much exactly this way in the animated movie and in the intro scene to J’onn in The Batman cartoon.

Here’s hoping the Vandal Savage bit makes it into the Cool Moments list…

This is a classic “effect that can only be achieved in comics” moment. Cooke just nails what is cool and fun about J’onn J’onzz.

How is it that Cooke can “get” Martian Manhunter so well, when almost no one else can. This series is so awesome. “I’l be one of the good guys.” What a great line!

I think King Faraday mentions them finding Erdel’s body later on, so I presume J’onn just left him there.
