Something fun and inconsequential
- by Greg Burgas
- in Cool Comic Thing
My lovely wife, who apparently doesn't have enough to do at work, often sends me e-mails with various goofy attachments - if you've ever worked in an office, you know the kind. So the other day she sent me a bunch of those fake motivational posters, and one made me chuckle and is relevant to a comic book blog:

I think Zan and Jayna are my favorite, although Batman's pretty funny too. And look whose signature is on it!

It was made for an issue of Wizard couple of years ago, I think to accompany a Last Man Standing featuring the monkeys. Don't remember who won, though/
I love Batman hitting on the girl and Robin enjoying Wonder Woman's buttocks.

Ah, thanks, Tomer. I'm surprised it was allowed - I guess DC has a sense of humor about some things!

Robin's doing some mad Amadeus Cho math in his head. I think he's going to come out of this with a nice profit.

I only recognise one of the monkeys, from Space Ghost.
Is that the Wonder Twins kissing in the background? It's been a long time since I've seen them, and I don't clearly remember what they looked like.

Zorak is actually IN the ring with the monkeys. I think he'll be eating the loser.
And maybe the winner.

@Mary - How do you recognize the Wonder Twins but not their space chimp, Gleek? He used to sit in the bucket-made-of-ice all the time.

They made a couple of edits when it ran in Wizard. There wasn't a condom sticking out of Batman's utility belt anymore.

I believe Robin was in the place of Jace originally.

Oops... For some reason I looked at the girl (never watched Space Ghost so I don't know the names of the characters) while typing. Of course Batman hitting on costumed young boy would make much more sense.

Robin is staring at WW 's ass, not much of hard thinking there.

That's not Zorak, that's Brak? Know how I know? Cause Zorak's a Praying Mantis and Brak is the best show ever shown on the show-show-er!

To the Ugly American-- I watched Super Freinds back in the Wendy, Marvin, and Wonderdog days, but I had stopped watching before the Wonder Twins showed up. (I think I was mostly watching NBC around that time.) That was why I wasn't sure it was them. I think I only saw them two or three times. I didn't even remember them having an ape.

Actually, in the original Wizard publication, Batman was hitting on Jan, not Jayce.

Does that mean Wizard "edited" it. Because, to be honest, I really wish we can call an end to the "Batman and Robin are gay" jokes. Come on, it's so tired and overdone! Let's move on. At least Robin's acting nice and straight.

AWESOME! I especially love Gambling Addiction Aquaman. Think we could get an action figure of that? "Now with super gambling addiction!" He could have a little switch on his back and when you flick it, his fist full of money shoots up into the air.

@Sijo
You must really live life in the fast lane if you find a super monkey knife fight boring!
Thanks for bringing it back from oblivion Greg, I thought it was a hoot .

This poster makes me miss Harvey Birdman, Attorney-at-Law, really bad.

I'm also tired of gay Batman jokes.
As long as we're talking the comics published in the last 40 years, I always thought there was a LOT more latent homoeroticism going on when Spider-Man fights any of his enemies, than between Batman and Robin.

Okay what does the poster on the far back left say? It looks to me like something about Tyler Durden. Please someone tell me what they see?
