H.E.A.T.?

Hal's Emerald Advance Team, fellows who wanted Hal Jordan to return as Green Lantern after he was turned into a villain and replaced as Green Lantern by Kyle Rayner in 1994.

Great one, though Brad could've used a shiftier/madder expression on the last panel

given what josh went through last strip with that guy taking his love for magnetoe over board. not suprised to see him having some stiff ones and also showing that josh has not totaly changed put his foot in his mouth when he compares the magnetoe guys new group to heat saying h.e.a..t the sequal

It's the NAMBLA of comics fandom.

Even if though I didn't know what H.E.A.T. was the last line was still hilarious.

Originally Hal's Emerald ATTACK Team, which gives a more accurate idea of what the group was like.

Were there honestly that many members of H.E.A.T that you could run into one in your everyday business?

Awk-ward...

" It's the NAMBLA of comics fandom. "

Hey, that's not fair to the North American Marlon Brando Lookalikes Association.

Nicely done.

That's a part of the joke.

I swear, I'm gonna have one of those awkward encounters with a HEAT member someday. And it won't be pretty.

Not only that, but the bartender's a member of the Merry Marvel Marching Society! :)

A bar that caters exclusively to comic nerds, or at least the kind you actually want to be around in public? The real world needs this.

A bar that caters exclusively to comic nerds, or at least the kind you actually want to be around in public? The real world needs this.

You want a bar where you can run into H.E.A.T members?

It could get violent.

I thought NAMBLA was the Robin fanclub of comics fandom.

I was expecting something more violent for the end.

I hung out at a bar populated solely by comics and gaming nerds, but it was basically the owner's club house (at least that night). And it was magical. Also, there's the Isotope Lounge. Finally, great strip, guys!

Wait! One more thing! Brad reminds me of Paul Rudd!

@Micheal: I have a dream that someday, when I'm a rich lawyer with money to burn on potentially crazy business investments, I will open up a nightclub called Wannabes (after the mutant club from District X). It will be a nerdcentric club with comic book/sci-fi/fantasy/etc. drink specials, cosplay bartenders, and X-boxes in the VIP booths.

The scary part is when he says "I'm a member of HEAT"-- not "I was". At least to me...
