Nice to See Jeff Parker Getting a Big Push

Marvel released two more promotional pieces for their “Fall of the Hulks” storyline.

It’s really cool to see that Jeff Parker is so involved in such a big storyline for Marvel. Hopefully this leads to even more notable work for him at Marvel, as he is a good writer!

And my goodness, look at that art lineup! McGuinness, Pelletier AND JRjr?!? Wow!

They need an art line-up like that, as this entire story (as does the entire concept of a “Hulk family”) sounds irredeemably dopey.

Which need not be a flaw in smash-up comic events, certainly, and I’m hoping that it’s dopey in a good way. Though it’ll have to be really good to justify “Red She-Hulk.” :-)

I enjoyed Planet Hulk and World War Hulk, but just aren’t interested in this at all.
Hulk takes on an entire planet was a cool concept.
Hulk takes on the Marvel heroes, was a cool concept.
Green Hulks take on mysterious red hulks… not so much.

I haven’t been following the Hulk since the end of Planet Hulk, but I agree that Jeff Parker is one of the most underappreciated writers in the bullpen. And he’s got a heck of a sense of humor.

I wonder how Parker will work the Agents of Atlas into this event.

Unfortunate that this push involves him being billed as last of three writers ( both more famous, one extremely derided these days ) on a crossover event for a franchise that long since went off the rails. Red Hulk’s a joke that stopped being funny quite a while back, and while I respect Parker’s abilities greatly, this doesn’t sound like a project that can be salvaged.

Where is Blue Hulk? BLUE HULK SMASH!!!!

She-Hulk’s vagina is almost hanging out.

Nitz-

Alphabetical order!

She-Hulk needs to cut down on the steroids. She looks like a man, there. At least red She-Hulk knew where to draw the line.

Parker’s great, but yeah — it’s unfortunate when writers I really like (see: Slott, Dan) get attached to projects I wouldn’t touch with a 10-foot pole. *sigh*

I really don’t understand the fuzz on Hulk, which became unreadable since Peter David left. Unless people really enjoy slugfests much more than I thought…

That is cropped from a drawing of She-Hulk, Valkyrie & Thundra by Frank Cho, from Hulk #7

Cho does have a tendency to draw rather muscular women with big .. eyes. But it looks like he is not drawing for this cross-over project, so you need not fear an excess of she-muscle.

Wasn’t it bad enough the first time around? How the hell does Jeph Loeb still get work?

HOLY….. What the hell happened to Valkyrie!!!!!!! Has she been dipping into a secret stash of Asgard steroids????
