I’m with Ricardo. But then it’s all a bit subjective. I’m much more familiar with DC history than Marvel and lots of those Marvel covers were completely new to me.

Without the Batman 194 cover, there is no LSH 293 cover.

The Legion cover owes a ton more to Will Eisner than it does Carmine Infantino.

Because others said the opposite, I just want to say Infantino is amazing. I count him as as easily one of the top stylists of the Silver Age.

as much as i like seeing block buster pop up got to go with number for for the cover was paying props to the bat man tv show going on at the time. that plus the clue something was off was that bat man was wanting to slack his duties to watch the thing shows that one that is not bat man for he is on duty 24 seven. a classic cover.

You probably had them pegged already, but it’s fun to see two of the suggestions I sent pop up on the list regardless.

The 4th cover is one of four different covers that immediately pop into mind when I think of Julius Schwartz’s various influences on the creative/editorial direction of DC, the Atom “Battle of the Tiny Titans” cover being another. So posting the latter immediately made me think of the former, along with the “Hawkman battles a flying ape” cover and the already shown “Green Lantern versus a yellow missile” cover.

After I saw the first two today, I thought the theme was weird stony use of logo. I was expecting Steranko’s cover for the Hulk Annual. That should be coming along sometime, right?
Give us a day of Wonder Woman hot babe covers, ok? One each from Hughes, Bolland and Byrne with a wild card for the fourth spot.

Have to agree with MJ on the Infantino call, his art never appealed to me, never. Might be heresy to say but it’s true. There’s still time though, been collecting for over thirty years and just started liking Gil Kane in the last five (WTF ?!?!). Anywho, gotta go with the Murphy Anderson CLASSIC, number three it is boys, #3.

still no adventure 247! oh the days when the UK prices were on the comics themselves. These days I go to four stores depending on where I am situated. Two don’t have any prices at all but charge £2.15 for a $2.99 comic and £2.80 for a $3.99 comics. One charges £2.20 for a $2.99 comics and £2.50 for a $3.99 comic and have the prices hand written on card above the new releases shelf. The last one charges £3 for both priced comics but they are a tiny store that needs to survive so I cut them slack. That went off topic… Anyway 247! and perhaps some Adam Hughes covers

That first cover exemplifies why I never liked Infantino’s art. He always drew people throwing punches that look like they would do no damage at all. I equate it to the Three Stooges’ Joe Besser when he would say “Stop iiiiiiit” to one of the other Stooges tormenting him and he’d add an effeminate punch/slap at their wrists.
