Just Like Keith Giffen’s Legion…

It’s now five years later.

Yep, so it’s come to this…FIVE years of Comics Should Be Good! Five years ago today this little ol’ blog was started up by Alex, Joe, two Pauls, Tadhg and myself (with a super cool name picked out by Joe). Thanks guys, for starting this place up with me!

Thanks to all of our regular folks – our two Gregs (Burgas and Hatcher), Brad Curran, Bill Reed, MarkAndrew, Danielle Leigh, Scott and our two latest contributors, Chad Nevett and Kelly Thompson!

Plus, semi-frequent reviews from Michelle and Melinda!

Not to mention contributions from Alex, Joe, Paul Teel, Pol, Paul McEnery, Tadhg, Tom, Chad, Christopher, Harvey and Marionette.

Plus, of course, the features we host here (or have hosted), like Sean and Brandon’s Comic Critics, John Seavey’s Storytelling Engines, Kethylia’s Manga Mondays and Lorendiac’s Lists.

Thanks to Jonah for hosting the blog at Comic Book Resources and to Stephen for keeping everything running smoothly (and for our awesome new fifth anniversary logo!)!

Thanks, also, to all those folks who come by to read our ramblings!

Thanks to the sites that link to us.

Oh, thanks to those folks who bought my book!

And thanks to anyone else that I forgot to thank!

These past five years have been a blast, and I hope…okay, I’m pretty darn certain that the fun will not stop any time soon.

I was wondering why my life was a nine-panel grid with lots of odd extreme close-ups this morning.

Congratulations to CSBG!

And I still don’t like We3. :)

Happy Birthday!

Congratulations, guys!

Here’s to 5 or 10 more years of awesomeness!

Congratulations and well done!

This blog is my first stop on the internet every morning. Thanks for all of the hard work.

Congratulations! And thank you for consistently providing a fun place to visit and read with unique features that I don’t find anywhere else. I look forward to the future!

Hopefully, you guys won’t be vilified and ignored like his run was.

Hmmm. This entry’s title can totally be sung to the tune of the Television Personalities’ “(Just Like) Geoffrey Ingram” …

You guys been around for 5 years?!?

That’s hard to believe that time flies so fast when we’re all blogging the hell out of each other. ;-)

Let’s all drink a toast to another 5 years, eh?

Holy shit, I had no idea. Well I believe I will ingest intoxicants tonight.

It’s now five years later.

Bah. I’m waiting for the Threeboot version of this blog.

Er, I mean congrats on a good run!

Who knew 5 years ago how cool this blog would become?
Thanks, guys.

I jumped the gun a bit on the logo – there it is now! Thanks a lot, Steve! It looks great!

Thanks for the great site!
It’s now one of my most often checked sites.

BTW: I was telling my wife about the 100 greatest storylines column.

Her response : “Again with the lists? Damn, you guys love to make lists!”
My response : “We’re comic book people, we’re anal retentive, comes with the territory.”

So here’s to many more years of quality blogging and anal retentive list making!

Yeah, yeah, that’s cool… but wait a couple of months for the Mordruverse version of this blog, which will all be hand-calligraphed on parchment by mind-controlled eunuchs while one of the many Gregs prances around in a princess dress playing with unexpectedly sharp knives…

Thanks, Brian, for being supportive and having me here! I’ve really enjoyed it.

Congrats on the first five years!

Does this mean you’re sporting a pony tail?

Ditto what Danielle said. I know I’m the SUPER new kid on the block, but it’s been such a great experience thus far – I hope I’ll get to stay a long time. Thanks for everything and congrats!

Congratulations for the 5 year anniversary!

Like many said and will say (or don’t say it but think it), thanks for providing a great blog that provides great daily content that makes me come back almost every day to check out what’s new :)

I raise my glass to toast for several more years.

Congratulations, and happy birthday to the whole team!

This is a superb blog.

Hey, good job!

I was confused for a second by “and myself (with a super cool name picked out by Joe)”–I thought, ‘wow, having Brian Cronin as a nickname is really subtle humor.’

I really appreciate all the work that goes into this blog; I’m always glad to come around!

Will there be at some point cake?

Probably not, Michael. Brian NEVER gets us cake …

Congratulations, and thanks for maintaining such a great blog!

Kudos on making it five years! Looking forward to the next five!

Also: That anniversary logo is striking. Good work, Stephen.

What are you talking about? Brian and I have been sitting in cake for hours. We got too full of eating it so now we’re sitting in it. I think both of us have urinated.

It’s a pretty disgusting scene.

Damn you East Coasters, Joe Rice!!!!!!

I feel it inching towards my anus. It is an odd sensation.

Remember, on those checks, it’s Bill with two L’s and Reed with two E’s.

I was out drinking tonight anyway, and now it’s retroactively celebratory. Yayyyyyy

Hooray for you!

Spiffy looking new logo as well.

Wow. That is awesome.

Happy birthday, CSBG! Long may you reign.

Congratulations to all!
And Joe – thanks for sharing…

I know I’ve said this before, but at this point it bears repeating: I’m a huge comic book reader, amd yet there are only two comic book sites I still check on a daily basis. This is the main one (the other being Brad’s favorite site, The ISB.) I’ve even contributed to other comic book sites that I no longer bother checking more than once a year. This site not only has new and interesting posts on a daily basis, but the comment section is light years more civilized than the rest of the internet. Congrats on hitting the 5 year mark. I have no doubt we’ll all be here at the 10 year mark.

Congrats. I love this blog.

Comics R Gud.

Happy Anniversary!

Love the new brand!

This blog is very much a part of my everyday life, and it’s fun to see all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into it. Brian continually amazes me with his creativity and knowledge. ::smooch:: And all the contributors, new and old, are awesome! I’ll admit, some of this stuff is way outside of my comics experience, but I’m learning all sorts of new nifty stuff everyday. Thanks guys!

Happy Anniversary and Congratulations, CSGB!

Man, anyone else remember the blogspot days? We were all so young! And smooth!

Kudos and congrats, folks.
