A Year of Cool Comics – Day 354

Here is the latest in our year-long look at one cool comic (whether it be a self-contained work, an ongoing comic or a run on a long-running title that featured multiple creative teams on it over the years) a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here‘s the archive of the comics posted so far!

We continue the Cool Christmas Comic Countdown with a nifty Walter Simonson, Art Adams and Al Milgrom Fantastic Four story from the 1991 Marvel Holiday Special…

Everyone loves Walter Simonson’s Fantastic Four, right? And everyone remembers the fun New Fantastic Four story by Simonson and Art Adams, right? Well, this is a bit of a forgotten tale – a Simonson/Adams Christmas story (with Milgrom on inks). It is a cute story (inspired by Charles Dickens) featuring Franklin Richards…

Pretty sweet set-up, right?

The pay-off is even better. And boy, Adams sure is a good artist (Milgrom’s inks are strong, too).

Has Marvel reprinted this story?

I want to see what happens next!

This holiday special is AMAZING! Seriously, one of the best comics I own. Sweet Art Adams cover, every story has something neat to it, and it’s just a great collection. I tear up a little at more than one of the stories.

X Fans will probably like the Xmen story with Cockrum art.

One of the best Punisher stories is here. Steven Grant with, I forgot, Klaus Janson (one of my top 10 artists, too!)

I love the Ghost Rider story. I met the artist (whose name eludes me…) at Ithacon recently, and he said the one page’s original art went like that, it’s so cool. John Hebert, that’s his name, had to check comics.org He had some interesting stories about the industry…

Great Great Great issue!

That made me tear up a little. Franklin is a good kid.
