I think your post says it all, actually.
I can’t believe the same guy who writes Casanova is the same one who’s writing Uncanny X-men. It doesn’t help that one book has Ba and Moon, while the other has Land and Dodson.

The Dodsons do cheesecake art, but lumping them with Greg Land is just mean.

Yeah, seriously, the Dodsons are in no way in the same category as Land.

Well, I for one, would think that the best news of 2010 would be the news that:
Ellis brings back Desolation Jones, Fell and newuniversal
&
Marvel brings back Alan Moore’s Marvelman and Neil Gaiman’s Marvelman, plus the remainder of Gaiman’s book 5 and 6.
&
Alan Moore finds another artist to do Big Numbers.
That’ll do it for me.

I saw the announcement on the frontpage, and then I saw the title for this post, and I knew. I knew.

The Dodsons aren’t my cup of tea, but they deserve mountains more respect than Greg Land.

Yeah I knew I should have taken out that Dodson comment, but you got to admit that the Dodsons aren’t as good as Ba and Moon, which was the original intention. It certainly doesn’t help that he is also saddled with one of the worst mainstream comic artists in the business with Land.

I don’t think it’s that Dodson’s aren’t as good as Ba and Moon, but that it’s more like apples and oranges. Dodsons aren’t objectively worse to me, just different with a different specialty. Both pairs of artists excel at their own particular style of art and would probably fail trying to emulate the other’s styles.
Land on the other hand sucks doing his own style of art. And I believe any competent artist could do what he does (which is trace).

Hells yeah for Casanova.
Are both Ba and Moon working on this new volume?
And will it be $1.99? Because I won’t get it if it’s $2.99 (that’s how I roll).

I like the art in Casanova, but I just couldn’t get into the story at all.
If I want a mad bombardment of crazy fun ideas, Umbrella Academy does the job much better for me (with – as I only noticed the other day – the same artist)

Man, I hope this doesn’t suck!
It probably can’t live up to the expectations the wait has created, but, at the very least, it’s sure to look damn nice.

We had to wait a long time for volume 2, but it delivered!
