2/4 – If Only…
Nick Fury would just give Captain America a call!
(I know I just did a bit on it yesterday, but I just couldn’t get over the visual of Captain America daydreaming about Nick Fury contacting him)

I meant to mention it yesterday, but I think “Captain America, Agent of SHIELD” would be an amazing book, if only for the pun of it. Even disregarding that, though, it seems like the WWII heroes (the ones that are still around, anyway) should work together a lot more than they do, and SHIELD would be an easy way to accomplish that.

You absolutely must follow up with the first panel from this page: http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/capshield8.jpg
There’s just so much joy in that leap!

Is the phone working? Maybe the phone’s not working. I should pick it up and see if there’s a dial tone. But what if he’s calling at the exact moment I pick it up to check? He’ll get a busy signal. But if it’s not working, he won’t be able to get thru? How will I know if it’s not working unless I pick it up to check–OH, GOD WHY WON’T HE CALL?!

Despite the month and the day being completely different, I totally thought this was going to be a post about 9/11. You should do something about that, Brian.

This is up there with that famous old JLA panel that ends with Batman thinking “Oh no! Robin, I’ve doomed you!”

Ha, that Batman panel was the wallpaper on my work computer until a few months ago, when it got replaced by a shirtless Nick Fury crashing through a wall on a motorcycle firing two guns at Scorpio. It might be the manliest picture ever,
