Yeah, not too surprising, I guess. I didn’t vote for any of the All-New X-Men of my youth, but even so, I’m surprised that Kurt beat PG so readily. But then I have no idea what he’s been up to since the late 1980s.

Wow. I didn’t expect Darkseid to crush Kitty. Everyone loves Kitty. Look at how well Iron Fist did though.

Just to be the voice of disagreement:

I never cared for Kitty Pryde when I was young.

And I also never understood the Quesadian idea that young readers want young characters. When I was a teen, I hated teen characters. Most teens don’t want to be teens, they want to appear mature and sophisticated and with it. My teen self loved Batman, but hated Robin. Loved Wolverine, but hated Kitty Pryde. The kid characters seemed annoying and bratty to my cynical teenage tastes.

Only later that I learned to like Kitty. But she never became a favorite, partially because I kept remembering how much I loathed her when I was younger for all the X-Men fawning over a stupid kid.

Huh. The only one from this round that I voted for was the one that likes to hang out in skimpy white lingerie.

Just wanted to agree with Rene that Kitty was not for me when I was a kid. The first few issues since she joined I found it neat to have someone just slightly older than me on the X-men, but then she quickly became whiny and annoying, and seemed to get more annoying the more “mature” she became.

Plus her power was boring (the power of not being hurt) and no fun to play with when I used my Star Wars figures and Fisher Price Adventure People to re-enact or create new X-men battles. Everyone had something to do but the little short hand-glider person with goggles (that was my Kitty for some reason…Magneto was Lorne Greene/Adama in scuba gear wearing a sleeping bag for a cape).
