Later, recovering from a flesh wound, Mr. Felps decided to instead open a pet store specializing in exotic kittens.

This is why Gotham City has so many abandoned warehouses and run down amusement parks.

And yet, Mr. Felps is still smarter than the typical resident of Earth-616.

Ha! This reminded me of when I was a kid, I could not understand why ANYone would ever build an amusement park anywhere near Gotham City.

Somehow could’ve been a panel shorter, but in the end that was pretty slick all around. Good job.

@joecab – why do you think they’re all abandoned amusement parks?

lol . mr. phelps proved that he did not do research before deciding to come to Gotham . or he would have figured out not to name his places certain names plus Gordon got to practice his shooting.

Gordon had to stop him before he moved to Metropolis and opened a Hair Club for Men next to a Radio Shack.

After Mr. Felps was killed, the Secretary disavowed any knowledge of his actions…

It reminds me of the episode of Batman: TAS where a guy opened a casino with a very Joker-centric design style. He did it expecting Joker to trash the place, but it works out roughly the same.
It does beg a kind of chicken and egg question, though. What kind of business can you open that can’t be turned into a criminal motif by a disgruntled employee or other psychotic? Or to turn it around, can you never open another amusement park in Gotham because the Joker might target it? That’s kind of like letting the terrorists win.

This one made laugh. Especially the clown college next to the children’s hospital.

Ha!
If you read it in the voice of a 1950′s robot who is trying to understand humour, it works perfectly.

You’ve obviously forgotten about the crime family known as the Mattress Masters.
King, Queen , Double & Single, along with the robotic Super King.
Kind of a rip off of the Royal Flush gang.
There was also the short lived Mattress Mistress, published by Avatar in the 90′s

This is the first CC strip I totally don’t get.
I suppose you have to like Batman? He’s building bases for Batman villains or something?
To whom does “zwei” refer?
Brian Cronin

Zwei meaning two means that it is a perfect target for the duality-obsessed Two-Face.

That would just attract Crazy Quilt. Also Clayface III and his wife might move in.

Awesome.
I demand a sequel in which the guy Gordon shot becomes a supervillain. There’s no escaping the Gotham Paradox.
