Reader Art Gallery!

A little while back, I asked for folks to try out to be one of a group of artists who would do weekly sketches for the blog. The artists who were chosen (by a super secret panel of people) make up the weekly feature on this here blog, The Line It Is Drawn (check it out here). Since there were SO many good artists who tried out for the gig, though, I asked those who didn’t get chosen to send in an art piece, as well, and I would feature them in a reader art gallery (as well as any other blog reader who felt like sending in a piece of art). The theme would be the same as the first week of The Line It Is Drawn – “draw your dream inter-company crossover.”

Here are the art pieces from the people who replied!

Enjoy!!

I will be posting the pieces in the order that I received them!

First up, Elliott Sawyer went back to his “second grade drawing (and third grade spelling) roots” for this piece teaming up the World’s Finest duo with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Elliot’s website is The Mechanistic Moth.

James Figueiredo presents this team-up of the most notable gay superheroes from Marvel and DC.

Rufus Edge delivers a hilarious team-up between Marvel Comics and Bluewater Comics (the company that does a lot of biographical comics – and the same company that The Line It Is Drawn’s Erich Owen has done quite a bit of work for), specifically Spider-Man and Sonia Sotomayor…

Rufus’ website is Comicdeoxyribonucleicacid (if it means anything to you, Rufus, I believe you were the first runner-up in the voting of the super secret panel. Either first or second runner-up).

Thanks to all the great artists for sending in their work! Go check out the websites of the people you liked, folks!

This was a lot of fun! Maybe I should do reader art galleries more often!

Excellent stuff, all of it. My favorite is Snake as Cap; judging by my own contribution, you can tell I’m a sucker for anything combining Metal with Gear.

Multiple Man/101 Dalmations is very clever. I just wish I had found the time to do my Kraven hunting Bugs Bunny. (Or Magnus fighting WALL-E)

Hi there,

Noticed that the link to my blog doesn’t work. For anyone interested it’s:

Glad to be a part of this gallery, it was a lot of fun! Great stuff here!

Ah, for lack of “http,” the link was lost. Fixed now! Thanks, Chaz.

Nothing will ever top the Question meeting the Answer. That’s just brilliant.

Is that second one supposed to be a joke, or has Wolvy enjoyed the company of men before?

That’s Daken, Wolverine’s bi-sexual son.

Who is between Grace & Batwoman in that drawing, and who is above Wiccan and Apollo? I’m assuming that’s Hulkling above Batwoman.

“That’s Daken, Wolverine’s bi-sexual son.”

Whew. Have I been out of the X-Men loop!

Wow, thanks, Brian!
Great stuff, all around, but, man, “Multiple Man meets the 100 Dalmatians” is just EPIC! :)

@joshrchr – Between Grace and Batwoman is the New X-Men’s Anole, that is indeed Hulkling behind Batwoman, and the fella above Wiccan and Apollo is the NEw Guardian’s Extraño. ;)

But . . . Shatterstar isn’t gay! He’s a warrior!

My favorite is Dr. Mid-Nite and DD, although Madrox and 101 Dalmations is a pretty close second.

Love that 101 Dalmatians piece.

Also, I strongly endorse more Reader Art Gallery posts. It really creates a sense of community, and gives artists an opportunity to do really cool things.

I’m not sure which is the best DRAWING, but Mardox meets 101 Dalmatians is definitely the best CONCEPT of all of them.

These are so wonderful. Moar!

first pic’s not showing up for me… anyone else?

Not the squirrels, NOT the squirrels!!!!!!

Those fuzzy cute lil’ animals are like vicious terrorists on four legs with a tail!!!
Especially when their weapons of choice is acorns!!! ;-)

Question meets the Answer is the BEST!! Also, Snake as Cap totally kick-@ss. Really good stuff.

Peace.

This is some really good stuff, I like Mike Tomaras Eleckra face off against Clone wars character Asaff Ventress. That;s Hot,

Love the MM/101 pic and the Squirrel Girl pic… but who is she fighting? I don’t recognize that particular ginormous eyeball

I don’t find most of these as well-drawn as the previous sets, BUT I find them even more whimsical and fun. I can only imagine the dialogue between The Question and The Answer! Hah! :D

Great stuff!

Glad to hear some of you liked my entry.
Here’s the possible dialouge:
The Answer: Stop pursuing me!
The Question: Never!

This feature is a great idea. I hope it keeps going.

I really enjoyed working on this and getting to see everyones work.

I hope that there are more reader art galleries in the future, and again congratulations to those great artists who earned their spots on the weekly blog.
