The Line it is Drawn #4 – Comic Characters and Saturday Morning Cartoon Characters
Let’s get the standard stuff out of the way.
You should follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Sonia Harris Danielle Leigh, Melinda Beasi and Michelle Smith!
The blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. Plus, if we reach 2,000 followers, I’ll do an extra edition of Comic Book Legends Revealed the week we hit 2,000. At 3,000 followers, I will do another Month of Greatest Stories Ever Told!
Now on to the bit!
So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our SIX blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the top six choices from the previous week.
To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (all suggestions due by 11:59 PM Eastern on Thursday, August 26th):
Either I came up with this one or my friend Justin Davis. Either way, the topic is – put a comic book character into a time period other than their own (think Return of Bruce Wayne, with Batman as a pirate, Batman as a caveman, etc.)
Read on for the six sketches that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge:
Comic book characters mashed up with Saturday morning cartoon characters…Snorks meet Aquaman, stuff like that
Enjoy!
I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion.

Captain America vs. Captain Cave-man is both hilarious and gorgeous.

OMG, so much AWESOMENESS!
I love the Captain Cave-man/Captain America crossover, and ANYTHING with Darkwing Duck is a winner in my book, but, man, those X-Babies/Muppet Babies drawing takes the cake. SO. BEAUTIFUL.

I loooove the X-Babies/Muppet Babies.
Also, it’s cool that someone suggested Biker Mice from Mars. I was never a fan of the show, but they had cool toys and the racing game for the SNES was second only to Mario Kart.

Cap/Captain Caveman FTW … and that Muppet Babies is just pure awesome sauce!
Much props to all you guys who take the time to do the artwork – they’re all winners!

The X-Babies/Muppet Babies was really cute, but the Captain America/Captain Caveman was pure genius (and the art was great, too).

No you’re not, Angie. I really like that one too. There’s great personality and expression in the Freakazoid pic.
Thanks for all the comments, everyone! And keep those awesome suggestions coming via twitter. (Yes, I know. Ugh…) A great pic comes from a great suggestion!

I like the SHS vs Nemesis, nice to see Millar (or at least his creations) get their comeuppance. The Freakazoid/Punisher crossover is funny to see. But the top two on my list are the X-Babies/Muppet Babies (any sweeter and I’ll die of insulin shock) and the team up of Captain America and CAPTAIN… CAAAAAAAAAAVE MAAAAAAAAAAN!!!! My inner child is smiling. =D

Muppet Babies and X-Babies needs to actually happen.
Great work as ever, Caanan Grall and Erich Owen!
Although I’m sad we didn’t get a bonus for Brian’s Snorks/Aquaman.

All were good.
But X-babies meet the Muppet babies certainly takes the cake. Though I’ve got to give props to Freakazoid/Punisher and the shear genuis that is Captain America/Caveman.

If this feature, with so many kickass contributions, were to be released as a book for charity, I would buy it.
Erich Owen powns!

Another batch of well-thought out and well drawn ideas.
The X-Babies/Muppet Babies is sheer cuteness, but the Cap-and-Cap wins for the switch-their-costumes idea. Both were WONDERFULLY drawn tho!

My favorite was X-BABIES/MUPPET BABIES, just awesome!
