The Line It Is Drawn #21 – Special Holiday Edition!
Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Sonia Harris Danielle Leigh, Melinda Beasi and Michelle Smith!
The blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account. As an incentive to follow us, if we reach 2,000 followers, I’ll do an extra edition of Comic Book Legends Revealed the week we hit 2,000. At 3,000 followers, I will do another Month of Greatest Stories Ever Told!
Now on to the bit!
So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our SIX blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the top six choices from the previous week.
To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (all suggestions due by 11:59 PM Eastern on Monday, December 27th): We’re taking a break so our artists don’t have to draw over Christmas weekend – we’ll be picking up again on Thursday, January 6th.
The topic is – New Year’s Resolutions! Come up with a New Year’s resolution for a comic book character, then our artists will draw that character dealing with their resolution (for example, “Punisher resolves to use his words rather than guns” and then the artists can draw how that would turn out!).
Read on for the six sketches that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge:
Just name a holiday theme for a comic book character (Justice League caroling, Kitty Pryde lighting a menorah, that sort of thing)
Enjoy!
I’ll put them in alphabetical order based on the name of the Twitter user who made the suggestion.
All copyright and trademarks of the following characters are held by their respective owners!
Daniel Irizarri couldn’t make it this week, and Brad Millette has to bow out for the foreseeable future, but Nick Perks will now be one of our regulars and we have a new fill-in artist you’ll meet soon enough. I’ll add the fill-in artist and Caanan a little bit later – we needed to get this thing up by 2pm Eastern.

Welcome, Mike!
Merry Christmas, everybody! And have a Happy New Year!!
And, of course, thanks so much to the artists and the suggestion-givers! Now everyone head off to Twitter and give the artists some good options for the next installment!
NOTE: If you wish to participate in the January Reader Art Gallery, you have a few eeks left to do so! The deadline to send your artwork (based on any of the previous The Line It Is Drawn topics, although I’d prefer you choose ones from December) to me at bcronin@comicbookresources.com is 6pm Eastern time on Thursday, January 13th! We received a bunch of drawings last month – I’d like to see a bunch this month, too!

Great batch as always.
Nick Perks had the highlight with Batman, Inc. Christmas party. He nailed the personalities of that cast. My favorite bit is Tim Drake “barking up the wrong tree” with Batwoman.

^wow I butchered that entire sentence. That’s what I get for listening to a lecture at the same time.
Second try-
“Nick, yours came out great. Very touching and creepy at the same time haha”

Actually… I don’t see The Comedian/Silk Spectre picture as that dark; We know that after The Comedian’s brutal, ugly assault somehow, later on, he wooed her into bed and Laurie was conceived. I see this as the tender moment we never saw when Sally “can’t sustain the anger”. (Although now I check my sources I see Eddie ‘dropped by’ in the summer – Doh!)

Man, Spider-Man’s spidey sense is always failing lately. What’s up with that?

i really likes the Santa Mojo one, especially Wolverine’s candy cane claws!
Canaan did a wonderful job, as did Nick Perks. I also enjoyed Chaz’s nod to the Amazing Friends.

[...] Here’s a great Christmas post of CBR’s The Libe It Is Drawn series in which fans mash up comic book characters around a theme. See the X-Babies and the Batman, Inc. office Christmas party here. [...]

So sorry that I couldn’t contribute this week, but my family is going through a really rough time right now. I think once the new year starts I can get back into normal rotation.
Great work this week, guys. Caanan, that’s excellent as always. I think people recommend X-Babies pieces just for you at this point.

Welcome aboard, Michael!

Most of these filled me with the Christmas Spirit EXCEPT the one with Comedian and Silk Spectre (Seriously? A Watchmen reference for Christmas? Good God.)
My favorite this time is Canaan’s, who once again shows not only his mastery of various art styles but his ability to come up with unexpected ideas. Although Nick Perks art was also terrific.
Thanks to Brian and all the artists involved for bringing us these early Christmas presents!

I don’t mean to be dense, but what does the Flash have to do with the Early Avengers … could someone kindly explain.
Thank you.
