Go See Skyscrapers of the Midwest…the Play!
Reader Corrin Warkentin was the most recent person to remind me about this, but I meant to write about it awhile ago. As you all may or may not know, I was a huuuuuuuge fan of Joshua Cotter’s brilliant comic book series, Skyscrapers of the Midwest, about two boys growing up in the 1980s in, well, the mid-west.
Well, a fellow named Matt Slaybaugh has adapted this wonderful story into a stage play in Columbus, Ohio!!
Oops, Corrin also pointed out another little interesting piece of information. Slaybaugh first read Skyscrapers of the Midwest based on a review I wrote for the comic back! So I am, in a vague (not really at all) way responsible for this becoming a reality! Yay, me!
If you live in the area, you really ought to give it your patronage. Click here for information on the play, including how to purchase tickets.

I fogot to mention that it says in that link that Slaybaugh was inspired to pick up and read a copy of Skyscrapers because of Cronin’s praise of the book on this site. So Cronin is somewhat responsible for that play’s existence.

That really is an excellent comic, which I also read thanks to Brian’s review. A play would be cool to see, but I live nowhere near there.
