Atlas Comic Monsters in the Style of Charles Schulz!

Jess Harrold sent in a drawing based on the recent Line It Is Drawn about drawing comic book characters in the style of a notable comic artist. Jess decided to draw the monsters from Strange Tales, Journey Into Mystery, Tales of Suspense and Tales to Astonish…in the style of Charles Schulz (of Peanuts fame)!

Fantastic!

Good grief.

Amazing.

Wow, I only sent this to Brian thinking the Reader Gallery was still a feature – I didn’t expect a CSBG post solely for little ol’ me! Many thanks Brian, and I’m glad some of you guys dig my take on ‘What If Charles Schulz Drew For Atlas?’

Well, a list of who is supposed to be who (the Marvel monsters aren’t THAT well known, you know) would have helped, still, this is hilarious! Is that Xemnu the Titan holding the blanket?

So I think that’s Xemnu, Groot, Devil Dinosaur from right to left and then Woodstock as Fin Fang Foom. The four on the left I should know but I can’t put my finger on it.

I think Charlie Brown and Snoopy are Goom and Googam. But then I also assumed Woodstock was the Hulk, being so much smaller than everyone else, but I like the idea of him being Fin Fang Foom better.

As for Linus … Orggo, maybe? Rommbu on the far left? Not sure bout Pig-Pen either, but I’m gonna guess the Glob (or maybe Diablo, the Demon from the 5th Dimension).

Ha Ha! Now who’s a blockhead?

Whoops, I don’t mean Linus. Linus is Xemnu. I meant the green figure, who may be Marcie/Orggo.

Charlie Brown is Goom (or possibly his son, Googam), left of him is Orrgo.

A phrase I never thought I would see in my lifetime but is TOTALLY awesome creatively:

Woodstock as Fin Fang Foom

Maniacmutt, thank you for making me laugh and Jess, wonderful picture!

CHarlie Brown and Snoopy are definitely Goom and Googam, respectively. Pig Pen seems to be the smoke monster (Diablo?).

Ha! Pig-Pen rocks.

Peace.

“So I think that’s Xemnu, Groot, Devil Dinosaur…”

Devil Dinosaur’s not an Atlas monster, he’s a Kirby-returns-to-Marvel-in-the-late-70s character.
