REVIEW: Violent, Profane "Deadpool" Shouldn't Work, But Really F---ing Does
All throughout May, I’ll spotlight a different webcomic. Like with the month of independent comics and the month of LGBT comics, I figure I will let you webcomic creators out there suggest your comic for spotlight during this month. So if you want me to spotlight your comic, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Today we look at Nick Marino & Justique Woolridge’s daily superhero satire, Super Haters, where a pair of superheroes have many misadventures, but mostly just sit around and talk.
Super Haters is about an armored hero named Destruct-O-Tron and a mystical heroine named Mind’s Eye. They are not your typical superheroes, as most of the time they are just sitting around talking.
Here are some examples…
The humor in the strip can be quite “adult-oriented” at times, like the time that Mind’s Eye is zapped with a “Horny Ray”…
There’s a decent amount of sex jokes.
To wit, when Mind’s Eye sets up Destruct-O-Tron (who agreed to take off of his helmet) with a friend of hers…
Her friend has sex with him to make Mind’s Eye jealous. Did it work?
But really, at the heart of the strip, Marino just likes to do lots of absurdist humor.
Here’s an example…
It’s a fun strip. If the above examples seem funny to you, then this is likely the strip for you! Especially considering we’re talking DAILY content here, people!
Check out the strip here.
