A Month of Comic Book Sites – Nerdage

All throughout June, I’ll spotlight a different web site about comic books.. Like with the month of independent comics, the month of LGBT comics and last month’s month of webcomics, I figure I will let you comic book site/blog owners out there suggest your comic book web site (or blog) for spotlight during this month. So if you want me to spotlight your comic book site, drop me a line at bcronin@comicbookresources.com!

Today we look at Nerdage, the blog by Matt Price that runs on The Oklahoman website that deals with “Comic book, graphic novel and movie news that impacts nerd culture.”

At its heart, Nerdage is a comic book news blog, updating readers as to news that, well, as the above description cites “impacts nerd culture.”

However, Price does more than just give you the latest comic news (although that, in and of itself, is still a valuable service for readers).

He just finished a countdown of the Top 25 Actors and Actresses with “geek appeal” for Oklahoman readers. Since it is being voted on by OK readers, the results are quite interesting (as raised-in-Oklahoma Christian Kane does very well).

Price does quite a few posts examining comic history as well as the present, including this piece on his Top 10 Favorite George Perez Comic Book Runs.

Price’s most ambitious feature, though, is also perhaps his most purely comic book driven piece on the blog. Price has decided he will read 2,011 comic books in 2011! Check out his progress so far here.

Im digging all these comic book websites. Wheres the comic book dating sites!! So i have something to talk about other then” Yeah i have read all these” or “yep, they come out every week” !!

Thanks for the mention! I appreciate it! I can use all the encouragement I can get trying to get to 2,011 comics. (It seemed so much more manageable in theory!)
