A Month of Comic Book Sites – Epic Randomness

All throughout June, I’ll spotlight a different web site about comic books.. Like with the month of independent comics, the month of LGBT comics and last month’s month of webcomics, I figure I will let you comic book site/blog owners out there suggest your comic book web site (or blog) for spotlight during this month. So if you want me to spotlight your comic book site, drop me a line at bcronin@comicbookresources.com!

Today we look at Josh Mayfeild’s Epic Randomness, a random assortment of commentary by Josh about the world of comics, games and “geek culture” in general…

You know, for a site that touts its randomness in its name, Josh’s blog is actually pretty well-structured. At least recently, Josh has been doing a series of weekly posts.

One is called Secret Origins, where he does a very in-depth character guide to a comic book character. With the Green Lantern film in the news, he has devoted the last few to Green Lanterns (Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, etc.). You can look at the archive of Secret Origins here.

Every Saturday, Josh looks at at a movie serial. You can check the archive of Movie Serial Saturday here.

Ever Friday, Josh looks at the classic radio series Frantic Times. You can check out the archive of Frantic Friday here.

But there definitely ARE random stuff on his site…

Like his review of the comic that got him hooked on comics (sort of like hooked on phonics)!

Or his take on the occasional pratfalls of digital coloring!

Or a look at the awesomness of DC’s Elseworlds 80-Page Giant (I forgot how cool that book was!).

Epic Randomness is a fun site with a lot of good information.
