Luke Cage History: From Hero for Hire to Hollywood
TV, Comic Books
Plume Books (a division of Penguin) is publishing a second book about comics by me! It will be due out in July 2012. It’ll basically be an extension of the various features that I do on the blog (in list format), with a mix of some of the best ones that I’ve featured these last few years as well as a lot of new stuff. In fact, I’d say about 3/4 of the book will be brand-new material. Essentially, all the stuff you see from me throughout the year at Comics Should Be Good (Comic Book Legends Revealed, Goofiest Moments, When We First Met, Drawing Crazy Patterns, Comic Book Easter Eggs, I Saw It Advertised One Day, Top ___ Writers/Runs/Storylines, etc.) will be represented.
We have a tentative/working title, but I figure I’ll wait until it is the “official” title before I share it with you all (I think it might become official as soon as tomorrow).
On top of all the material from me, I will also be having guest contributions from comic book creators. Some of the best and brightest creators from the world of comics have been gracious enough to agree to contribute guest pieces to the book.
Here is an alphabetical list of those who have agreed to contribute pieces to the book:
Jason Aaron (Jason let me use a list he had written in the past for CSBG)
Fred Van Lente
Thanks, of course, to all those creators who are doing lists. Thanks to my editor at Plume, Kate Napolitano. And thanks to my agent, Rick Broadhead.
Fun stuff. As soon as you can pre-order the book, you know I’ll share that information with you all.
Comics Should Be Good accepts review copies. Anything sent to us will (for better or for worse) end up reviewed on the blog. See where to send the review copies.
