2011 Top 200 DC and Marvel Comic Book Characters Master List

Here, based on nearly 1,400 ballots of your votes for your favorite DC and Marvel comic book characters of all-time, is the list of characters revealed so far (click on the character to go to the piece on that section of the list)!

NOTE: We revealed #50-1 in September. Now, every day until Christmas Eve we are counting down #100-51, to fill in the entire list. That is why there are a lot of blank space. They will all be filled in by Christmas Eve.

It’s going to be fun to see how many of the characters on the DC list don’t exist in the DCnU. There’s one already, possibly two, depending on the status of Vic Sage.

wow Johnny Storm came in behind Iceman?

If Jim hammond shows up on the list I will be amused.

I would of put Psylocke & Cable before Colossus. Both are a lot more interesting with a nice comic history to go with them. I think even in the short time Cable has been with us he has had a great run in the spotlight

Thanks as always for the great work compiling these results! It’s been very interesting so far to see the differences from the last poll. I’m hoping that when the countdown is over, we can get another full tally list for each company like last time.

Loki at 45?!

Come on, people! He brought the Avengers together! He brought down Asgard! He’s a master villain!

Mr. B.C.: What about doing a Top 100 list for Image, Dark Horse, and IDW? I would think that these companies have been around long enough to compile such a list.

Don’t you think?

IDW and Dark Horse characters would be tricky, since both companies rely so much on licensed properties.

[...] A couple weeks ago, Brian Cronin’s “Comics Should Be Good” column at Comic Book Resources ran a DC/Marvel Top Ten survey. The idea was to name your top ten favorite characters for both DC and Marvel comics. (And the results are starting to appear). [...]

I don’t think most readers could list 10 different Image, Dark Horse or IDW characters. Or even tell which of them created a specific character.

Well, I know *I* can’t!

we should have also included a top 10 list for image comics

I think a better idea would be a licensed character list and a non-DC/Marvel list.

[...] Should Be Good! has been reporting on the results of their new Top 100 DC and Marvel Characters survey, and has released #50-#26 of the DC results. We’ve seen two Flashes so far, and [...]

people seriously voted for *Gambit* as the “best Marvel character?” i guess it takes all kinds.

I can safely say the x-men who are going to be in the top 30 are:

Wolverine
Magneto
Rogue
Storm
Phoenix
Emma Frost
Shadowcat
Cyclops
Deadpool

and perhaps:
Nightcrawler
M

So it looks like almost all popular female characters outside x-men are mentioned on the list already.

47. Invisible Woman – 393 points (6 first place votes)

46. Spider-Woman – 420 points (4 first place votes)

39. Black Widow (Natasha Romanova)– 452 points (3 first place votes)

31. Scarlet Witch – 556 points (9 first place votes)

29. Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) – 587 points (6 first place votes)

26. She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters) – 716 points (14 first place votes)

The female characters outside x-men that may still be part of the list could be Elektra and Squirrel Girl is kinda unlikely but who knows, just like who would have expected her to beat Thanos. : )

If an ordinary female being is counted, then we may expect Mary Jane Watson to be in the list.

The Thing is the remaining Fantastic Four member not mentioned on the list. Either he’s out of the 50 but i’m leaning on him being included in the list.

Shadowcat has always been consistent with being the highest ranked female character on most lists i’ve found here and on other website. Will she be the highest-ranked female character again. We’ll find out soon.

As for the female characters of DC, I was expecting Zatanna and Catwoman to rank higher. Anyway the remaining female characters of DC is Wonder Woman and possibly Powergirl. I don’t really know a lot of DC characters so please do tell me who are the other female characters from DC i missed to mention.

People actually voted Black Panther as their favourite character?

Some of the characters in the DC list no longer exist in Nu-continuity.
Just saying, DiDio… $$$

Spiderwoman at 46th place in the Marvel list? Really?
She had more personality when she was a Skrull…

Uh Oh. I just realized I haven’t seen Lobo yet. Can he actually make it that high on a Top 50 countdown? Ahead of Sandman and Catwoman? Geez.

As for Marvel, Namor beating Nova surprises me. Not seeing Doc Strange makes me happy (because he’s in there somewhere). And I have a feeling Galactus does NOT make the countdown, although I hope I’m wrong.

I also agree with the posters who said we should do top characters lists for other companies, not just DC and Marvel. Image and Dark Horse has a lot of characters to choose from!

and now for the Wizard’s Top 5 Hottest Writers and Artists for September 2011:

TOP 5 WRITERS:

1. Matt Fraction – “Fear Itself”, Mighty Thor
2. Geoff Johns – JLA, Flashpoint, Green Lantern
3. Grant Morrison – Action Comics
4. Brian Michael Bendis – The Avengers, New Avengers
5. Jonathan Hickman – FF, Ultimate Comics Fallout, Ultimate Comics Ultimates, Ultimate Comics Hawkeye
6. Rick Remender – Uncanny X-Force
7. Ed Brubaker – Captain America, Captain America and Bucky
8. Mark Waid – Daredevil
9. Tony Daniel – Detective Comics
10. Warren Ellis – Secret Avengers

TOP 10 ARTISTS:

1. James Lee – JLA
2. Stuart Immonen – “Fear Itself”
3. Mike Deodato – New Avengers
4. Steve McNiven – Captain America
5. Oliver Coipel – Mighty Thor
6. Tony Daniel – Detective Comics
7. Rags Morales – Action Comics
8. Steve Epting – FF
9. Jerome Opena – Uncanny X-Force
10. Jamie McKelvie – Secret Avengers

Go Jamie Madrox! Almost cracking the top 30 AND beating X-23 (though not by much). Impressive. I have nothing against X-23 but she’s insanely popular and I expected her around #25.

Whoa, some of these characters that people voted as number 1 are mind baffling. I guess it is true that every character is someone’ favorite. Some of the characters have been portrayed so differently by different writers, that they only thing consistant with the character is the appearance.

I don’t think you should be listing marvel and DC in the same post. It makes DC look like the minor leagues. A lot of characters need to come out of the woodwork to fill out a list this big. There are way too many batman/superman related characters. superwhatevers and batwhatevers

I’d be really surprised and disappointed if Black Canary and Barbara Gordon didn’t make the list as well.

I think even in the short time Cable has been with us he has had a great run in the spotlight

Regardless of whether or not you like Cable, you can’t claim he’s only been around a short time. He’s been around for over twenty years. Not as long as your other examples (Psylocke, 35 years & Colossus, 36 years), but still, 20+ years is a considerable amount of time.

I feel like Barbara Gordon will be a definite, and I’m hopeful for Black Canary, my favorite non-Legion female character.

yeah Image, etc. They’re even a lot.

Spawn
Witchblade
Fathom
Tomb Raider
Darkchylde
Darkness
The Angelus
Angela
CYblade
Jungle
Kildare
Rainmaker
Red Sonja
Vampirella
Witchblade
Zealot

There are just so a lot of them. I hope Brian Cronin will hear us.

Okay, we’re three-quarters of the way through both lists, and so far, I’ve only hit one person on either of my Top 10 lists (though, oddly enough, it was #5 on both of ‘em), 4 on my DC Top 25, and 7 on my Marvel Top 25.

On my DC list, I’ve got Jesse Custer (#5), Guy Gardner (#13), Morpheus (#15), and Lois Lane (part of my five-way tie for 21st). As for Marvel, there’s She-Hulk (#5), Nick Fury (#14), Luke Cage (#16), Johnny Storm (#19), Black Widow (#20), Kitty Pride, and Mr. Fantastic (both tied for #21).

Conspicuously absent from my lists: Hal Jordan, Wonder Woman, Barry Allen, Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, Jim Gordon, The Joker, Wolverine, Magneto, Cyclops, Mary Jane Watson, Tony Stark, The Hulk, Deadpool, and Rick Jones.

I definitely get the feeling that only about half of either of my Top 10 list (though I’m holding out hope that there are a lot of Ambush Bug and Damage Control fans out there….).

Okay, that should read…

I definitely get the feeling that only about half of either of my Top 10 list will make the final cut (though I’m holding out hope that there are a lot of Ambush Bug and Damage Control fans out there….).

Well, we can add Lex Luthor (#3) and John Constantine (#10) to my DC list. Still leaves seven unaccounted for, four of which are pretty much guaranteed to drop off the list.

Looks certain that both Green Arrow and Slade Wilson missed the DC Top 50. Despite neither character being ‘hot’ right now, I’m a tad surprised.

Really happy to see Iron Fist so high up. He’s in my top 3 but didn’t think many other people were as into him as I am.

Thought Jean Grey would be higher than 20 though.

Good for Kyle Rayner, so far he got the most first place votes (32) of the DC characters, but I hope everyone who voted “Green Lantern” wasnt automaticaly a Hal Jordan vote, that would be so unfair considering the original Green Lantern is Alan Scott.

It looks like Wally West will make the top 10. I hope DC is listening.

Barbra Gordon Top 10! Awesome!

They forgot Buttview from Garth Ennis’ Ghost Rider

No legionnaires makes me a sad panda

Predictions for the remainder of Marvel’s Top Ten:
9 – Cyclops
8 – Daredevil
7 – Dr. Doom
6 – Hulk
5 – Thor
4 – Wolverine
3 – Iron Man
2 – Cap
1 – Spidey

Five people think Vision is the best Marvel character?! Oh my…

Wow. Guess I’m not surprised. My favorites are not the A-listers, mostly.

2 of my DC and 2 or my Marvel characters have made the list so far :

Hawkman & Captain Marvel

Vision & Nick Fury

My predictions for the rest of the list:

DC:

7: Starfire (the sword-and-sorcery heroine, not the Teen Titan)
6: Sugar & Spike
5: The Mighty Bruce
4: Matter Eater Lad
3: Ambush Bug
2: ‘Mazing Man
1: Angel & the Ape

Marvel:

9: Microchip
8: Marrow
7: Sleepwalker
6: Steeltown Rockers
5: Forbush Man
4: Damage Control
3: Fabian Stancowicz
2: Leapfrog
1: NFL Superpro

Whoops. Double-checked, and I should have “Frog-Man” instead of “Leapfrog”. My bad.

A bit bummed that the Wasp won’t make the Top 50. Many characters seem to get a boost because they are dead (Nightcrawler; Jean; Beetle) except poor Jannie Poo.
Marvel’s Top 15 is a sausage fest!

So which of these characters didn’t crack the top 50?

Venom/Anti-Venom
Spider-Man
Captain America
Thor
Ironman
Hulk
Ghost Rider
Wolverine
Daredevil

I would say Ghost Rider and Venom, but Brock has fallen a long way if he doesn’t make Marvel’s top 50 characters.

Also, I’m not sure how many Daredevil fans there are. I know I’m one of them; I was disappointed that Kingpin didn’t make the list.

The DC list is obviously gonna be Superman, Batman, Dick Grayson, Hal Jordan, and The Joker. The only question is the order.

As for Marvel, I had six out of the seven (Spidey, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, and The Hulk) pegged, but I was stuck on the seventh. I actually had Hercules pencilled in, with The Wasp as a dark horse candidate. Didn’t even think about Daredevil.

13 women on both lists…..interesting. 26% of the 100 characters.

If I were publishing, I would only star these 50 characters…..the rest will be support players

I can’t believe Blade, Ghost Rider, and Venom aren’t going to crack the top 50.

I give 100% credit to Joe Quesada (spl?) for bring Daredevil to number 6 above the Thing and Iron Man. I stopped reading Marvel a few years ago due to their direction, but Joe has nurtured his favorites, and Daredevil being one into the top ten in fans opinions. Nice work.

Out of both of my Top 10 lists, one DC (Batman) and two Marvel (Spidey and Cap) are solid locks for their respective Top 5′s, leaving Brainiac 5 (my DC #1), Ambush Bug, Firestorm (the Ronnie Raymond/Martin Stein version), the original Captain Boomerang, Jessica Jones, J. Jonah Jameson, The Warriors Three, Damage Control, and Aunt May out in the cold.

If you want to count my full Top 25 list, though (and there’s really no reason why you should), only Superman’s due up, with Matter-Eater Lad, Jimmy Olsen, the Metal Men, Tomm Monaghan, Supergirl (the Peter David version), Alfred, the Phantom Stranger, Amanda Waller, Harvey Bullock, Jim Rhodes, Speedball (not Penance), Galactus, Ben Urich, Nomad (Jack Monroe), and Jarvis falling out of the Top 50.

Wow! No Plastic Man or Elongated Man!

So Top 5′s are probably:

Marvel: Spidey, Thor, Cap, Hulk, and Wolverine

DC: Batman, Dick Grayson, Joker, Superman, and Jim Gordon

Not sure on the order…But those are pretty good top 5′s!

So the top 5 are Batman (and derivative characters Dick Grayson and Joker ) & Superman all classics characters around since 1940′s . …Plus Hal Jordan!

Well the Top 5 characters are pretty easy to guess but it’d be really interesting to see for example which 10 characters just barely didn’t make it to their respective companies Top 50.

Nice that amongst all the heroes there’s two Villains that made it, each in their respective top 10…

Dr. Doom for Marvel & Joker for DC

Dc has two Women in the top 10 Barbra Gordon & Wonder Woman. Marvel has 0.

Just guessing on the orders of the top 5

10. Barbara Gordon (Batgirl/Oracle) – 1569 (20 first place votes)
9. Flash (Barry Allen) – 1604 points (27 first place votes)
8. Tim Drake (Robin/Red Robin) – 1708 points (30 first place votes)
7. Wonder Woman – 1780 points (42 first place votes)
6. Flash (Wally West) – 2471 points (67 first place votes)
5. Green Lantern
4. Joker
3. Dick Grayson
2. Superman
1. Batman

10. Hawkeye (Clint Barton) – 1607 points (25 first place votes)
9. Cyclops – 1736 points (37 first place votes)
7. Iron Man (Tony Stark) – 2226 points (34 first place votes)
8. Doctor Doom – 1808 points (23 first place votes)
6. Daredevil – 2280 points (71 first place votes)
5. Hulk,
4. Thor,
3. Cap,
2 Wolverine
1. Spidey

Marvel Top 5 is obvious…Spider-Man should be #1, but I wouldn’t doubt if it ends up being Wolverine.

really surprised Jason Todd didn’t make the list for DC.

“Really surprised Jason Todd didn’t make the list for DC”

…well they did vote to kill him.

I thought Wolverine would be 1 or 2 interchangable with Spider Man. Wow.
So then its Thor and Captain America interchangable for 2 and 3 and Spider Man for 1.

cant believe Deathstroke didn’t make it.

Me neither (Deathstroke), but I’m glad about it – I can’t stand that guy.

“Really surprised Jason Todd didn’t make the list for DC”

…well they did vote to kill him.

Well, it was either him or Barabbas, and I have a good feeling about that other guy. He’s the sensational character find of the first century A.D.!

How fascinating that Wally West is the more popular Flash for DC readers than Barry Allen!

Well, now that both Top 50s have been posted, I may as well post my Top 25 lists….

Tied for 21st: Ben Urich (not listed), Kitty Pride (#19), Mr. Fantastic (#30), Edwin Jarvis (not listed), Nomad (Jack Monroe) (not listed)

In DC: 5 of the top 10 are bat-family characters. Wonder Woman, the notional third member of the Trinity, is 5th among Justice Leaguers and 7th overall. 11 Silver/Bronze Age JLAers (everyone but Atom, Firestorm, Red Tornado, Hawkgirl, and Red Tornado); only one Golden Age JSAer; various of the sidekick and legacy Titans (the Silver Age Titans, the former Young Justice) but none of the Wolfman-Perez Titans creations. Only one Kirby creation. 3 non-continuity, 4-5 from the Vertigoverse, 2 from Charlton/ Earth-4 (or 3 if we count the second Question), 1 from Fawcett/ Earth-S. Zero from Milestone. Zero black characters: not John Stewart or Steel or Mr Terrific or Amanda Waller or Bronze Tiger or Vixen or Cyborg or Black Lightning.

Within the main DCU (not Vertigo), the most recent fully-new creation (not someone stepping into an old role like Robin, Flash, Green Lantern, or even Batwoman) is Booster Gold.

What? Howard The Duck not in the top 50?

Howard was in my top 10.

Yeah Marvel’s Big 7 IS the Big 7. All heroes. Sadly people still don’t get Mr Maligned Tony Stark. Must be the Civil War/Demon in the bottle effect. People are too sensitive and conservative to accept someone as affront but modern Tony Stark.

I felt sorry with DC list filled with legacy chars, villains and not in-continuity chars.

Wow! Daredevil is 6th! Marvel, why isn’t he in MvC3, huh?

If only Green Lantern’s movie would’ve been a bigger hit! He could have made Top 3 like Thor!

Also, this is a vote for doing Top 50 Image and Dark Horse characters. Image is easy, Spawn, all the Young Blood characters, Savage Dragon, Wtichblade, Darkness, Invisible, etc. etc. Darkhorse has Concrete, Hellboy, Marv and the Sin City gang, Goon, Usagi Yojimbo etc. etc.. If you want to throw in Conan, Buffy and the Star Wars fellows you can. But I think it would be a lot of fun as well and it would remind us that this site isn’t just for DC and Marvel.

I agree that Image and Dark Horse would be interesting, although Image in particular presents a problem because so many titles have passed through that company and it would have to be characters who are currently still under the Image umbrella. By the rules used for the Marvel and DC lists, for example, Youngblood wouldn’t be eligible at all because it hasn’t been part of Image for over a decade. But what interests me is that I wouldn’t even consider any of the characters John mentioned for my personal Image Top 10 except Invincible, and yet I don’t think I’d have much trouble coming up with a list.

“I don’t think you should be listing marvel and DC in the same post. It makes DC look like the minor leagues. A lot of characters need to come out of the woodwork to fill out a list this big. There are way too many batman/superman related characters. superwhatevers and batwhatevers”

*Cough* Far too many X-Men characters for Marvel. Seriously now, you Marvel fanboys sound so snobbish, ugh. People enjoy who they enjoy. Who gives a crap which umbrella they fall under. They’re enjoyable characters all the same.

Will you be posting the full tally? I’d love to see where my favorites have fallen.

While I am unabashedly a Marvel fanboy, putting Bat characters (originally supporting characters of one guy) against the number of X-men (a team of characters that has been growing for 40+ years) seems like a false comparison.

“While I am unabashedly a Marvel fanboy, putting Bat characters (originally supporting characters of one guy) against the number of X-men (a team of characters that has been growing for 40+ years) seems like a false comparison.”

Mutants under one umbrella. Didn’t that whole team stem from one man? Charles Xavier. Seems just as good a comparison as any. Bat-family, X-family, what’s the diff? It’s just another way to be ignorant and dismissive about comic characters when you get down to it.

Yeah I’d like to see the entire list I possible. Where did some of my favs rank ?

No Jim Gordon, seriously?

Looking at the lists, again, it’s funny how DC had characters that haven’t really appeared in NEW comics in many years like Rorschach, Sandman, and Death (Ok, Death did appear in Action Comics this year with Lex Luthor), where all the Marvel characters you currently see monthly or have seen in the last year or so in one form or another.

Since Thor and Cap moved up higher on the lists because of their movies I wonder how many people voted. The Watchmen movie was just a few years ago, it wasn’t a HUGE hit like the Marvel films but it did ok. I would be curious who voted just on popularity and who voted because they were simply a fan. Sandman, for example, still has a lot of fans. Where Loki, who I assume does have fans out there, has simply been more popular this year then say Wonderman, Falcon, or Professor X (who also had a movie thie year). Next time someone does a list like that maybe it would be fun to do two lists. One for your” favorite” characters and one for the most “popular” characters…in your opinion. Again, most of us thought Wolverine would make the Top 3, but it was a nice surprise that he didn’t.

Overall The ladies are doing much better this year.
19/100 in 2007 and 28/100 in 2011.

2007 DC:
8. Wonder Woman
10. Oracle/ Batgirl (Babs)
18. Black Canary
24. Zatanna
27. Power Girl
31. Catwoman
33. Death
50. Huntress (Bertinelli)

2011 DC:

7. Wonder Woman (+1)
10. Oracle / Batgirl (Babs) (-)
18. Power Girl (+9)
19. Black Canary (-1)
26. Catwoman (+5)
29. Zatanna (-5)
33. Batgirl (Stef) (NE)
34. Batwoman (NE)
35. Harley Quinn (NE)
38. Donna Troy (NE)
40. Huntress (Bertinelli) (+10)
43. Supergirl (KaraZ) (NE)
47. Lois Lane (NE)
48. the Question (Montoya) (NE)
50. Death (-17)

in short Wonder Woman moves up 1 in the Top 10.
Death takes a huge plunge.
Power Girl and the Huntress are the big movers but there are 7 New Entries (NE) which is great.
For me notable no-shows would be Hawkgirl, Vixen, Starfire, Raven and Poison Ivy

commentary on Marvel Ladies:

2007 Marvel:

18. Kitty Pryde
20. Jean Grey
22. Emma Frost
25. She-Hulk (Jen)
30. Storm
35. Ms Marvel
36. Rogue
37. Invisible Woman
38. Molly Hayes
43. Mary Jane Watson
45. Jessica Jones

2011 Marvel:

17. Emma Frost (+5)
19. Kitty Pryde (-1)
20. Jean Grey (same)
21. Storm (+9)
23. Rogue (+13)
26. She-Hulk (Jen) (-1)
29. Ms. Marvel (+6)
31. Scarlet Witch (NE)
36. X-23 (NE)
39. Black Widow (NE)
46. SpiderWoman (Drew) (NE)
47. Invisible Woman (-10)
48. Psylocke (NE)

So Emma Frost leapfrogs over Kitty and Jean to be the first lady of Marvel.
Sue Richards takes a tumble while Storm and Rogue make the biggest leap.
Molly Hayes, Mary Jane and Jessica Jones all drop off the list but we have 5 new entries.
Notable no shows for me would be MJ, Aunt May, Black Cat and the Wasp.

Pound for pound a really good listing. Wish I did get around to voting this time. Congrats to everyone who did vote though. Dick Grayson in third place man that’s awesome!

Since Thor and Cap moved up higher on the lists because of their movies

Thor moved up. Cap remained in the same place.

I agree with those requesting a full list. I’d like to see how the rest of the Marvel/DC characters did.

Wow, never knew Doctor Strange was so popular. He’s my number 1, but I had no idea that he would be number 14 out of so many. That’s kinda cool.

@Bob
“People actually voted Black Panther as their favourite character?”

Statements like this, show that people really aren’t tuned into why others like comics. Black Panther is seen as someone to look up to, and aspire to be like, in the Black (African, African American, Caribbean, etc) community.

Just because you don’t like the character, doesn’t mean there isn’t something about him to be liked, and looked up to. You’d be hard pressed to find 5 comic book super heroes that are rulers of their own nation–especially a thriving African nation, that’s not oppressed or taken over by violence and poverty.

Although I did not vote for him, I am happy to see Quasar’s name here. Yea, he became a poorman’s Green Lantern, but I felt Mark Gruenwalk really but his heart and soul into those 60 issues of Quasar, and I feel any props Quasar gets, then Mark gets!

My favorite characters are 100 and 1 in both lists

I’m stunned that one of my all time favorite Marvel characters, Howard the Duck, couldn’t break the Top 100.
Poor guy has one bad movie and he gets shunned :)

I guess it probably didn’t help that his only super power is to speak English and be depressed most of his run.

But I have a soft spot for the guy.

I was happy to see NOVA get mentioned. Even as a teenager I saw how he was cut from the same mold as Spider-Man but that was still a really fun one to read.

Have to admit I could never get into THOR the way I did the Fantastic Four or Spidey.

Fun to read through this list though!

MIchael
Michael

where’s creeper, and shade the changing man?

Zatanna was the only DC character on my top 10 list to make the top 50. I’m doing better now that Phantom Stranger, Brainiac 5, and Dr. Fate have made the top 100. Unless Stargirl falls between #68 & #51, my DC list is probably done.

so who didn’t make it?

so far from my faves no sign of Tigra,Moondragon or Valkyrie from the Marvel list. Surprised but glad that Hellcat made it. And the Wasp should have been well into the Top 50.

I am SO happy not only Emma Frost is the winning female of the marvel universe in 17th place, but she beat my worst female in the marvel universe JEAN GREY. I have never liked Jean Grey at all & her powers seem less powerful than what they’re like. On the other hand, Emma Frost is the best X-female in X-Men history and one of the best females in marvel history. Everything about her I love; Intelligence, Beauty & Powers. Her storyline is amazing; being the leader of the Hellfire Club and enemy of the X-Men to becoming the leader of the X-Men is Awesome. Her powers include Telepathy, Mind Reading, Induced Paralysis, Mental Bolts and ability to shift into Diamond Form (which grants her strength and durability deflecting mental pain, emotion and empathy.) Not to forget her Mental & Physical love interest in Cyclops (who became distant with his wife Jean Grey after she possesed the Pheonix during the Age of Apocalypse.) I DON’T BLAME YOU CYCLOPS!! Eventually, Jean Grey dies and Cyclops and Emma Frost take over the Xavier Institute after Professor X steps down as team mentor. JEAN GREY I HATE YOU!!! EMMA FROST YOU ROCK THE X-MEN UNIVERSE ALL THE WAY!!!!!

Suprised that Morbuis isn’t on the list (or did I just not see him. I hope so)

And also, who the hell voted Mary Jane as their favourite marvel character.
I mean, in a universe with people who shoot webs, repulsors, lightning and lasers out of their hands, where people save the world from destruction, and try to destroy the world, someone actually said “I think the ordinary chick who’s married to a superhero is the best character out.”

*Morbius* (sorry, typo)

I was complaining about the 2007 list for no Hank Pym but him and Janet made this list! Now we just need another list where Gwen Stacy makes it…

No kick-ass on the marvel list?

Joker was a great character. He must be on number 1.

Has anyone ever heard of a super hero named “glance boy” or “glance lad”? As I recall (obviously, not very well), he had the ability to glance at something and understand it completely – or something similar to that.
