The Line It Is Drawn #57 – Super Mike Week!
Go follow Comics Should Be Good on Twitter (if you have Twitter, that is – if you don’t, you can go sign up). Here is our Twitter page… http://twitter.com/csbg. And here are the Comics Should Be Good writers who are on Twitter (the links go to the person’s Twitter account) – myself, Greg Hatcher, Chad Nevett, Kelly Thompson, Sonia Harris Danielle Leigh, Melinda Beasi, Michelle Smith, Bill Reed and Scott!
I update the blog’s Twitter account updates whenever a new post is put up on the blog, so it’s an easy way to keep up with the blog. In addition, I post new content on the blog’s Twitter account.
Now on to the bit!
So every week, I ask a question here. You reply to it on our Twitter page (just write @csbg with your reply) and our SIX blog sketch artists will each pick one of your suggestions and I will post them here every week. So every week you will have a new question and you will see the top six choices from the previous week. Here is an archive of all the previous editions of The Line It Is Drawn!
To qualify, you have to be following us when you reply – so go follow us and then give your answer to the following question/challenge (All suggestions due by 8:00 AM Pacific, Friday, September 16th).
Next week’s theme is (again)…
Courtesy of our own Caanan Grall, Team-up or mash-up a comic book character with a character from a famous Children’s picture book. Catwoman and the Cat in the Hat, Wolverine and Where the Wild Things Are, stuff like that.
We are repeating the theme because we did a special edition this week as a tribute to Mike Meyer, whose story Greg Hatcher wrote about here. All of our artists drew a piece for Mike and mailed it to him.
Read on for the seven Superman drawings that our artists did for Mike!
Enjoy!

All the guys really knocked it out of the park this week, although Caanan… dude. That’s excellent.
Isn’t it interesting, though, that all except one of the artists chose to give him the red tights, and the other two are split between jeans and no-tights belt? I don’t know if it means anything, just thought it was worth noting.

This just goes to show that for every one piece of trash on this planet, there are a dozen more good guys to save the day. Twitcht Dolphin Flix is sending Mike a DVD of the Action Comics-themed movie Funny Books.

Reading the story, makes me want to track that piece of trash down and beat him myself. Though I guess that wouldn’t be very in tune with Superman…
Just curious, if we sent suggestions in last week, do we need to resend them?…

Michael “Mic?” Magtanong’s Superman looks like new age heroes.
Savvy & stylish.

Is it just me or is Daniel Irizarri channelling Steve Dillon?

Congratulations to everyone involved. Having just this minute listened to a BBC report on the discrimination and disadvantage which so many of our societies are subject to, and which Mike’s been such a tragic victim of, it’s heartening to note a far more positive attitude at work here.

A neighborhood kid befriended me when I was about ten years old. Every day he came over, he would just leave without saying good bye. One day I looked for my stash of comics and they were almost all gone. I told my mother and she said that she had given them to my “friend” because he told her I gave him comics all the time. She was happy to be rid of them and HE never came over again. He acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about months later. He had an innocent act that made me think that I was in the wrong. Poor Mike deserves all the help he can get to replenish his collection. Maybe someone should tell DC Comics about him. Tell ‘em about my pilfered collection while you’re at it.
Good luck to Mike in getting his stuff back and catching the crook.

I very hardly ever study different blogs on web since most of them are time losing technique. However , I have to say that this post is totally opposite way round.
