Name That Joker Artist!
All November-long, I will be sharing four panels featuring a comic book character. They will each be drawn by four separate pencilers. I will be featuring only pieces of art where the penciler did full pencils (as otherwise it would be way too difficult). Your challenge is to, simply put, name that artist!
E-mail me your guesses to bcronin@comicbookresources.com. Do NOT make guesses in the comments section! After a week, I’ll post the correct answers on the archive page along with whoever guessed them correctly. You don’t have to name the issues the panels came from, but if you’d like to, knock yourself out.
Read on for the four Joker panels…
1.

Remember, don’t answer in the comments section. E-mail me your guesses at bcronin@comicbookresources.com.
2.

Again, don’t answer in the comments section. E-mail me your guesses at bcronin@comicbookresources.com.
3.

One thing you should know is that you should not give your answers in the comments section. E-mail me your guesses at bcronin@comicbookresources.com.
4.

Good luck and have fun!

Huh. I recognize three of these, but that first one is baffling me.

I’m pretty sure the first one is early work from an artist who went on to be pretty well-known, but the name escapes me.

I’m terrible at this. I think I know the last one, but that’s about it.

In order: Neal Adams, Brian Bolland, Frank Miller, Jim Aparo.
(Hoping there’s a prize for worst guesses…)

I dunno. I don’t think you left enough reminders not to post the guesses in the comment section.

In fairness to Brian, he’s been mentioning not to do it since day one and people keep doing it anyway, so I don’t blame him for beating a dead horse on this.

So wait a minute, we’re *not* supposed to guess here? (It never gets old, does it?)

Every time Brian does any of these things where he doesn’t want people guessing in the comments, he gets people guessing in the comments. I think he gets a perverse thrill from deleting the comments from people who don’t read closely. Funny.
I hope the answers include the issue info with the artist name.

Man, I knew that the 2nd panel was N. Stephen Harris, but I didn’t email that in because I had no clue on the other 3. If I knew one correct answer was good for the win, I would have sent in the answer for panel 2. Oh well.

The lesson is – just send in guesses no matter what!

Judging by Power-2, the lesson is just post guesses no matter what.

Ha! It was okay, I moderated his comment so that people couldn’t see it. I just let it be visible again since the guessing period is over. It is s’all good, though. No biggie.
