The Greatest Silver Surfer Stories Ever Told! – Voting

Here’s the latest of the daily voting threads for The Greatest ____ Stories Ever Told!

Our next character up for voting is the Silver Surfer.

Silver Surfer began his comic book life as the herald for Galactus and he currently is the herald of Galactus. In between that, though, was a whole lot of adventures.

You have until 11:59 PM Pacific time, November 24th to vote for your top ten favorite comic book stories starring the Silver Surfer! Your choices will be revealed on November 25th. I will leave what “starring” entails up to you.

You vote by sending your top ten choices to bcronin@comicbookresources.com (make the subject heading clear that it is about The Greatest Silver Surfer Stories Ever Told Voting) by that time (you send your votes by e-mail, not in the comments to this piece). If you can’t think of ten stories, I’ll still allow the ballot if you can think of at least six stories.

Be sure to first click here to read about the rules and guidelines for the voting (so you don’t vote for stuff that is ineligible, like you can’t vote for “Stan Lee’s Silver Surfer run” you have to pick a specific story or story arc).

I’d prefer you not share your votes in the comments section – please let’s keep it a surprise until the results go up. You can share your votes then if you’d like!

Have fun voting and be sure to check back November 25th to see the results!

“In Thy Name” is number 1 in my personal TOP.

“Parable” x10

Stan Lee’s Parable with the amazing Moebius artwork.

I love the stories where Mephisto is trolling the Silver Surfer. He’s all like I’ll let him see Shalla Baal but then I’m going to send her back to Zenn-La; the despair will drive him insane and he’ll give up his soul to me mwahaha. I just think his elaborate plans to mess with the Surfer are hilarious. I especially love his origin. Also, The Silver Surfer fought a ghost-pirate; how awesome is that?

I predict the original Galactus story from FF will take the top spot in the voting.

1. Silver Surfer #1 (Volume 1 )”Origin of the Silver Surfer” Stan Lee John Buscema
2. Fantastic Four 48-50″ The Coming of Galactus Stan Lee Jack Kirby
2. SIlver Surfer #3 (Volume 1) “The Power and the Prize” Stan Lee John Buscema
3. Silver Surfer Parable Stan Lee Moebius
4. SIlver Surfer #34-38 (Volume 2) “Rebirth of Thanos” Jim Starlin Ron Lim
