Here’s the latest of the daily voting threads for The Greatest ____ Stories Ever Told!
Our next creator up for voting is Garth Ennis.
Garth Ennis has a strong track record of notable series for a number of different publishers. He has done Preacher, Hellblazer and Hitman for DC, Punisher and Punisher MAX for Marvel, The Boys and Battlefields for Dynamite, Judge Dredd for 2000 AD, a number of stories for Fleetway’s Crisis anthology, The Pro for Image, Just a Pilgrim for Black Bull Press, Dan Dare for Virgin Comics and 303, Chronicles of Wormwood, Streets of Glory and Crossed for Avatar Comics.
You have until 11:59 PM Pacific time, November 29th to vote for your top ten favorite comic book stories drawn, written or co-written by Garth Ennis! Your choices will be revealed on November 30th.
You vote by sending your top ten choices to bcronin@comicbookresources.com (make the subject heading clear that it is about The Greatest Garth Enniss Stories Ever Told Voting) by that time (you send your votes by e-mail, not in the comments to this piece). If you legitimately don’t think you can think of ten stories, I’ll still allow the ballot if you can think of at least six stories.
Be sure to first click here to read about the rules and guidelines for the voting (so you don’t vote for stuff that is ineligible, like you can’t vote for “Garth Ennis’ Preacher run” or “Garth Ennis’ Punisher run” or “Garth Ennis’ Hitman run” or “Garth Ennis’ Hellblazer run” or “Garth Ennis’ The Boys run” – you have to pick a specific story or story arc).
I’d prefer you not share your votes in the comments section – please let’s keep it a surprise until the results go up. You can share your votes then if you’d like!
Have fun voting and be sure to check back November 30h to see the results!

My favorite Garth Ennis story is from his run on HELLBLAZER. Dangerous Habits, and i dont say that because ethat story arc lays the ground work for the movie but after reading the trade paper back i got a really good look at Jonh Constantin’s Psychology. I could relate to him, i felt like he was Hank Moody of Californication except (Constantine) being a British wizard. I love how i can view who Constantine really is in that Arc : He always thinks of himself first, he never has a long lasting change, always ends up with more enemies, he tried to be a shinny superhero but ended up becoming a fuck up dancing with demons.

The Heartland one-shot better in the top ten. . .

The trouble with treating Preacher as a collection of seperate arcs is that it will push everything else out of the top ten.

I dunno Dean, I think his Punisher MAX run will stand toe-to-toe with Preacher.

Sigh, Ennis’s Demon run isn’t even mentioned in his listed works. That run never gets any respect.
