The Line it is Drawn Try-Out Week 2, Group 4

I’ll be posting entries in groups of roughly 20 artists an entry. Check their work out and marvel at all the great talent on display here. Then, after these artists do a second drawing, we’ll ask you all to vote on your favorites. I’ll also have a group of judges vote for their favorites. I’ll combine the votes and we’ll end up with the two new regular artists for The Line it is Drawn. We’ll also be picking out one regular alternate artist for the Line it is Drawn, but I’ll let you know how we’re picking that artist a little later on.

So kick back and check out some nifty artwork, all based on the same theme as The Line it is Drawn this week, which was “Team-up two comic characters that have never teamed-up before.”

Enjoy!

I’m keeping the groups the same as last week. So if you were in Group 1 last week, you’ll be in Group 1 this week and so on and so forth.

Wee! A lot of my suggestions came out this round. (Zita! – I think that was mine… Tintin and Batgirl! Popeye and Asterix! Norah and Jimmy!)

All realised very nicely indeed.. thanks guys! :D

That Asterix and Popeye team up is the BEST

That Rob Peters Asterix/Popeye one is gold.

I quite like John Trumbull’s Deadman/Ghostbusters and Daniel Olsén’s Batgirl/Tintin as well.

And man, Superman vs. the Green Goblin is maybe the easiest collar ever.

Oh! And I don’t know who Zita is, but I like that Yukinori Xum drawing.

Hahahh, Psycho-Man and his iHate

Big SHADOW fan! Would love to see this story played out between him & Nightwing.

Zita the Spacegirl is a fun webcomic-turned-children’s comic book created by Ben Hatke. You can see some webcomics at zitaspacegirl.com.

Zita is one of my daughter’s faves… And I am a Green Lantern fan, so this was a no-brainer.

Glad you enjoy.

Deadman/Ghostbusters shows the kind of sense of humor that serves artists really well in this feature.

Wow Deadman is the winner for me in this group

Thanks for the kind words, folks!

Deadman/Ghostbusters – clear leader in this group…humor combined with artistic skill = win in my book!

I agree. The Deadman / Ghostbusters entry is superb and a clear winner here. Very clean. Nice going Mr. Trumbull.

Popeye/Asterix and Ghostbusters/Deadman are definitely the winners here.

Poor Deadman! Nice one, John! Love the birdseye POV.

My vote is for Christine Harris has Joker and Squirrel Girl meet

I Vote for Christine Harris Joker and Squirrel Girl

I would like to vote for Christine Harris Joker and Squirrel Girl

My vote goes for Christine Harris Joker and Squirrel Girl

I love Deadman. I love Ghostbusters. I love the combo! I do think that the Popeye/Asterix was very, very well done, also, but my vote goes to Mr. Trumbull.

Very cool Ghostbusters and Deadman by J Trumbull

I love the Ghostbusters one. Each of their faces is histerical. Well done!

Have to echo the sentiment about Trumbull’s choice of POV…great job!

Ghostbusters v. Deadman. Very nice, well drawn.

Wow. There’s some awesome art here! I love Yukinori Xum’s Green Lantern/Zita and John Trumbull’s Deadman/Ghostbusters is outstanding. Then Daniel Olsen and his Tintin in Gotham is just one of those images I wish I had thought to draw myself.
And thanks to everyone who said nice things about my Popeye and Asterix team up. It was loads of fun to draw!

I really enjoyed this week’s entries – Tintin & Batgirl and Popeye & Asterisk were faves, but John Trumbull’s Deadman/Ghostbusters gets my vote… his sense of humor and attention to detail are fabulous!

Tough one. Liked Tin Tin and I started learning French as a kid reading the Uderzo books, but I have to say that the Deadman/Ghostbusters is my favorite. The concept cracks me up plus the technique is great.

Beware, Squirrel Girl has a powerful cult following. The comic with her and Joker does not sit well with them (I checked).

@Disco Magic: The suggestion was on Twitter for Joker to kill Squirrel Girl I just drew it don’t knock the artist knock the Idea behind it ;)

Really like the Deadman and Ghostbusters one :D

Love the Deadman/ Ghostbusters mash-up! Thor/Savage Dragon is also good, as is Tintin in Gotham. Deadman/Ghostbusters is still my fave, though!

I like Abraxas Aguilera’s. Awesome work.

I love Abraxas Aguilera’s art!
