The Line it is Drawn Week 2, All 7 Groups!

Here is a handy dandy link to all the seven groups of artists who are trying out for the Line it is Drawn. They each drew a piece based on a suggestion of comic book characters teaming up that haven’t teamed up before (plus links to drawings of a famous person or character being “superfied” into a superhero or a supervillain).

Now you can cast your vote! Here are all the artists that sent in a piece for each of the two weeks. Vote for every artist whose work that you enjoyed.

Apparently, there was not enough room for the last five artists – even though they appear as though they are on the poll, votes for them were not registering, so I gave them their own separate poll – so please vote for them on the first poll (you can click on them in the second poll, too, if you’d like, they just won’t show up in the total).

Read on to cast your votes…

Voting lasts a week (until Thursday, December 15th at 11:59 PM Eastern time). You’ll find out the results when the new artists make their debut! It’ll be a fun little surprise.

I think you forgot Doug Nelson…

Oh good, I’m not going blind. Wanted to vote for Doug here…

And Jason Gonzalez is missing too.

Carl Peterson’s also missing from the poll!

Oh god! My problem remembering names and my fear of commitment are teaming up on me!

Ryan How is missing also

nevermind. don’t know why it didn’t show up when I searched.

Bill Walko and Hero Business will save us all.

I like Carl Peterson’s drawing as well, but no poll option :(

Jason Gonzalez is up there. Carl Peterson wasn’t eligible (he only did one piece). Doug, though, did get screwed. The weird thing about the poll is that it showed up for me as I’m entering names but then when it posts, it just cut off names after a certain point. Sorry, Doug, you’re on the poll now. I’ll just start you off with the same amount of votes as the top person right now, to make up for my mistake (we’re still early enough in the voting where the top person only has, like, 15 votes).

I also wanted to vote for Doug Nelson

How long is the voting open for?

Sorry if this was mentioned somewhere else and I missed it.

Thanks!

Ha! I just added that in, Don, right before you asked. It lasts until Thursday night.

Awesome!

Will we all be doing a third piece?

Cory Stauffer’s stuff is by far the best. It’s obvious he has a true style and that he’s not trying to ape anyone else.

Not much love for the Bogart piece last week and “That Yellow Bone” piece this week. No worries. I’ll still keep plugging away out here.

So many great artists!

I’m not listed either. Hmm

Only artists who did both weeks are eligible for voting.

Hi Brian i send my draw in time, but is not here my art or my name.

Voted. Some great looking stuff.

Hey Marco, yeah, I never received your second drawing until you forwarded it to me a little while ago, but I’ve added it in now and I’ll do the same thing I did for Douglas with you. I’ll add you to the poll and get you started with whatever the first place artist is at. Again, voting is so early that not a lot of votes have been cast yet, which is good.

Nice art from everyone. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Dani Puch is fucking amazing

Aaron Pittman! Dude is rad.

weird… I do not see the poll…. or am I blind? =)

Whew…that was like 27 votes….My hat’s off to all these artists for doing their thing here…They were all enjoyable to one extant or other…..

Get Brian Lots Of Caffeine On The 16th when he has to start tallying these up…..

david is the man!

weird… I do not see the poll…. or am I blind? =)

Do you have problems with Javascripts? That’s what the poll runs. I have occasionally heard of people saying their browser blocks out all Java, including the poll. Could that be the case?

Go Winter go!

Overall, every one upped their game. Everyone out did themselves.

That was the problem. At work, they have total control of the computer. At home, I see it. Time to vote!

Chris Anderson is the shit!!!

Myers is the MAN!!!!

Ryan Vila Rocks !!!!

arriba pucho!

Hmm, the link to my first week drawing in group six hasn’t been working.

I tried to be all responsible before voting and went back to week 1 to remind myself who I liked, and was sad to see a few of my week 1 faves weren’t in week 2. Alas.

So many great artists! Gotta shout out to my pal Marco D’Alfonso, so glad I could convince him to try out! He gets the Big Mike Squirrel of Approval!

Love James Espie’s work :)

Ok, voted now. The method for picking candidates was pretty simple, I went through the submissions of round 2 and when I came up with a piece I liked, I checked the piece on round 1. If both were good, the artist gets my vote.
There was a bunch of “maybe”s but in the end I voted for 9 artists: Shinn, Stauffer, Walko, Belanger, Hostetler, Tobin, Peters, Fontenelle and Deitz.

There were several pics which would make for lovely pin-ups or would be great pieces in sketchbooks but which didn’t cut it in this contest. In the second round it is not enough to just draw the two characters in the same picture, no matter how well you draw them: there needs to be something extra, a gag or a wink or something. There were also pictures which went for the more silent moments which might work occasionally as the actual TLIID submissions but for the purposes of this contest they are not the best material.
Also in round 2 I was not too fond of some submissions which started to cram too many suggestions in the same picture (or an occasional gag relying on some character detail I wouldn’t get for not having read everything the said character has ever appeared in…there are limits in geek humour).

Still, plenty of great stuff there, including pieces by several artists I didn’t vote for…

hay brian when are going to find out who won?

and will we get to see how many pepole voted for wich person?
