Cover Theme Game for 1/25

Every Wednesday you’ll get a brand-new comic cover theme game! The game works like this: I’ll show you three covers. They all have something in common, whether it be a character, a trait all three characters share, a connection between all three characters (like they all share the last name of a U.S. President), a locale, a creator, SOMEthing. And it isn’t something obvious like “They all have prices!” “They all have logos!” “They all feature a man!” “They are all Avengers (who ISN’T?)!” “They’re all dead (who HASN’T been killed off?)!” etc.

In addition, please note that you must have some familiarity with comic book history to correctly guess these comics. You cannot guess the connective theme just by looking at the covers solely, you must have some knowledge beyond just the covers.

If you come up with an answer that works outside of what I intended, I’ll give you credit (well, provided I think it fits, of course).

One more thing – if there are floating heads on the cover, ignore them! They don’t mean anything!

If you think you know the answer, e-mail me at bcronin@comicbookresources.com. Don’t answer in the comments. This way, people who check in at different times of the day can still get credit for answering it correctly!

Here is an archive of all the past cover theme games, plus their answers. Before each new installment, I’ll post the answers to the previous week’s game.

Good luck and enjoy!

This one is definitely “gettable.” I had fun with this one. I think it is pretty clever, if I do say so myself (which I just did).

The three all feature fights that are imagined/simulated.

This is way too hard. Because of this post, I’m giving up the internet entirely. I’m going to sell my computer, get rid of my cell phone, and get a job mowing lawns. Have fun with your internet, everyone.

soooo, where’s the answer to last week’s?

They’re all by artists I like. Boom. Done.

Answers are posted in the archive.

Being a huge X-Fan, I thought I’d get this one. Oh well, at least Brian’s got good taste in artists lol

Da Fug: WHERE in the archive?

Basara: Follow the link on this page that says “Here” right above the covers, then scroll to the bottom of the list for last week’s answer. They’re in chronological order, with the oldest at the top and the newest at the bottom.

Hmmmm. Since I have that Sensational Spidey minus 1, I’ve got a verrrrrry vague notion of what might be an answer. I’ll see if I can dig out that issue and confirm that what I’m thinking about that one is true.

Actually, now I’ve got another idea. hmmm.

This one MIGHT be gettable for me, and that would make me happy-like. yay!

Honestly, it’s really hard waiting a full week for these games. I used to find them way too hard, but hey, I got credits for the last 3, so I’m hooked!

Sigh, X-Men and Spidey…any Avengers or DC coming up?

All I know is that I got last week’s edition. I’m pretty much excused for the semester. That’s what got me through college!
